GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Hello,

Queensland Railways Standard 1913 Type 1A Waiting Shelter Shed, there was some variations to the design which I will make. Typical to most Queensland branchlines and mainlines.

G'day trainz89 & Azervich,

...@ trainz89,

...excellent work, there, Michael. I am sure our 'northern' members (read "banana benders":p) will find it useful...

...@Azervich,

...Aaron, ALL of the Australian 'roads' get a mention on that site, too...

G'day yojimbo,

...even if it isn't finished, I "dips me lid"...

..as an interesting aside, I still can't believe that a whole two days passed (from 11:14 hours on Saturday morning until 13:36 hours on Monday afternoon - local time, of course) WITHOUT a single post being added to this forum...

Maybe, just maybe, even Triainzers have a life beyond Trainz at this time of the year. Spend some time away from the screen and get reacquainted with some of the other residents in neighbourhood. There will be plenty of time for our simulated life later.

Or we find it a nice way of winding down after a day of Christmas shopping.

That aside, here is the reefer version of the previously posted Litra HD. This is Litra IA 19 544 of 1942.

G'day yojimbo,

...are you sure that vehicle is officially designated as a "reefer"? From where I sit, it looks exactly like the same vehicle just painted white! Would not a "reefer", at least one as old as that one, have some form of openings (most likely on the roof) for the ice to be inserted, so that it could keep the contents cool (or did the DSB have some special, advanced technology that didn't require ice, about which I am not aware)?

It is indeed almost the same wagon, but still a reefer in the sense that the refrigiration - when needed - came from dry ice rather than ice or a compressor type reefer plant.
Older types of reefers indeed correspond to your description, but the IA series were made for margerine, butter, eggs and vegetables and the use of dry ice along with the white coating and extra vents was enough for the Danish routes. IAK was an offspring for meat (k = Kød = meat) with bars for meat hooks.

The insulated types for frozen goods had other litras and looked distinctly different.

G'day yojimbo,

...you wrote...

...to which I respond...

..."fairy's muff" (fair enough), meaning that I accept your explanation...

...incidentally, it's all right to "forget the meat", so long as you don't forget the gravy:hehe:...

G'day matruck,

...that's excellent work, yet again, Mick...

...the ubiquitous D. C. P. M. (or Dual Control Point Machine), as they are known down here in the south. If it's of any use to you, I can provide you with a copy of genuine recordings of the noise of these things for both 'opening' and 'closing' of the points (which I was going to use on my own versions, for 'we' Victorians, when I got around to doing them)...

...tell you what! I'll do a deal with you, if you want the audio files. If you could possibly rework the model to make the attaching sleepers match S301's 80lb VR timber track, make the 'connection' to the point blades suitable for 5' 3" guage track AND recolour the wiring to make it black, I'll let you have the sound files without prejudice...

...by the way, I'm still trying to contact you via Skype to organise that little bit of 3DS Max instruction you requested...

@trainboi1 That's why I'm going to find someone to map it for me. :P I'm hopeless at mapping.
