Gilpin Tram Route - Remarkable Colorado Mining Route in Development

Sadly we lost Jango not too long ago. He had made his first pass thru the route and worked his magic. The route is very old and some assets needed updating. Jango was especially unhappy with the track. He did not want to do any more work unless the track was updated. I started updating the track and got most finished but a few pieces still need to be done. We were just about ready to share the updates with him when he left us. We have also lost contact with another member of our team and fear he may no longer be with us. Crisger and I have hopes to get back to the route and eventually release it. We both have multiple active projects so timing remains uncertain.

Hello Sgt White
the Gilpin route project is still on track. We have made updates and created new splines for track and road, and a while ago, I arranged with Jango for him to do a major update on the scenery which he completed in beautiful style. We hope to work on creating some additional accurate rolling stock, and are making arrangements for that, and also I am working on updating some of the structure models, Bob, I and Paul are the main team working on it of course consulting with the original creators Mark and Linda along the way.

We hope to complete and release this winter, so keep an eye out. Bob hopes to create some new activities/sessions for the route, which will be great as his work on Sessions is legendary. The route has a remarkable history, and Mark's creation of it is very accurate and as far as we know the only virtual restoration of the route. Keep checking and we will post with updates when relevant. As it was the last route that Jango worked on it will be also a tribute to his amazing talents and skills, and we are very happy to also honour him and his work on this route.

the route contains many accurate models of some of the over 200 mines that were located in the region, as well as the major towns such as Central City.

Hi and yes I think of them all with regret and respect. We need to keep going and do our best to honour their memory by continuing to do good work preserving and sharing railroad history with high quality routes, rolling stock and activities. We all have our time here, and when the last call comes well hopefully we will be grateful for fine communities like this one and the chance to share with like minded comrades the history and things we enjoy and care about. I believe all of our departed friends did just that. :)
