ghost stations and points??

I'm a newbie and am starting to create sessions.

I'm finding that some scenarios and layouts I'm downloading appear to have stations - you can see the buildings and platforms but they don't appear when trying to locate objects. I've tried to access their properties but they don't appear to have any. makes it impossible to direct AI drivers to them.

Also I've downloaded a couple which don't appear to have any points. If you send an AI driver to a trackmark , they appear to be able to do it but if driving manually you can't change any directions and only crash.

As an example Lambourn Valley Railway V02 has both problems

When I create a layout and set stations and joint lines, points are created and the stations appear in dirver directions. Am I missing something obvious?

Sounds like the stations aren't passenger enabled ones which may mean you need to look for a trackmark at the relevant platform, or add a track mark which you can instruct the AI drivers to navigate to.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the second part of your query there. Have you clicked on the show help in driver to find out if the points are hidden?

Many interactive passenger stations just consist of track with an invisible platform and attachment points for passengers to appear. This allows you to add visible platforms and buildings of your own choice. To access the properties of these invisible stations you must click on the track and not on any of the buildings or platforms that the layout creator has added. Often (it depends on the station creator) the active point will be indicated by a set of track splines attachment points, usually near the centre of the station, and perhaps a ghostly grey area that is only visible in surveyor.

I've checked the first station - clicking the tracks but no properties popping up.

From the look of the tracks (spline points etc) they don't appear to correspond with the station platforms etc. At least one track is a section many times greater than the station length.

I've tried to insert trackmarkers at several of the stations but the AI train seems to ignore them. When directed to go to a trackmarker, it went straight past!

I've found a couple of scenarios with these ghost stations. Can't give their names at present as I deleted them.

The invisible points - the tracks are connected but no points seem to exist. I've tried to access properties on these as well but no joy. They just seem to be two or more tracks which happen to join, showing a spur or junction. No apparent method of changing direction.

Clicking the in game help doesn't help and a search for 'hidden points' came back empty.

'Clear Lake logging 1' also has these points.

Yes.

I can add points which then work although the red/green arrows appear to one side of the track rather than over the track as per normal.
