Getting Started with Releasing New and Modified Routes?

Hello. I currently have several routes that I'm working on, which I created from scratch. I also have several routes (East Kentucky by Dermmy and Sandpatch Christmas by TrainzProRoutes) that I have modified to my liking. Being new to releasing routes for Trainz (these routes were created/modified with TS2010), what are the guidelines to releasing them? I'm aware that it's fine to release your own routes, created from scratch, but what about modified routes that were made by others? I would like to make sure before I go any further.

Thanks in advance for any responses. :)

Hello.
The only way to release modified routes is to contact the original creator and ask for their permission, or else you might get into some trouble (as some are okay, and others will make a huge fuss over it). Also when asking for permissions, its also to best to ask on how it can be released (eg 3rd party site, DLS, etc).

Hope this give you an idea - I know others might pop in here and give you more details;)

Thanks for the response. If anyone knows the best way to contact the creator of East Kentucky (Dermmy) and the creators of Sandpatch Christmas (TrainzProRoutes, but I'm not sure if the route was made by only one person), then please let me know. I'm aware that, since I have an unsupported version of Trainz (TS2010), I will probably be unable to upload to the DLS. If that's the case, then I'm fine with uploading to a third-party website, such as a file-sharing website.

Best way is to email them if the config file has an email address. If there is no email address, then you'll have to PM that creator. Just be prepared for a long wait to hear back.
