Game randomly pauses and then says not responding then recovers

I bought this game about a year after it came out, and i was excited to get the newest trainz simulator as i already had ts 2004. I re-installed it on the new hard drive i got as i recently upgrading my system but thid happened on both. I will be running in surveyor mode and just looking around, moving around or looking through the static meshes and what not trying to decide what i should place in the spot i am at, and then the game will freeze, and then it will recover. It has recovered almost every time, the pauses occur for anywhere from 2 to 30 seconds. I know this is not a loading pause or that my computer is thinking hard because my cpu rarely goes over 25% while running this game. It will do this at the most random times, does not matter if im running it by itself or running other programs in the back round. I have no clue why it is doing this. My system i built is designed for gamin, has a zembezi 8 core 3.6 ghz(4.2 OCed) amd processor, asus motherboard, 12 GBs of DDR3 1333 ram, a zotac 560ti amped edition nvidia graphics card(i can OC it but i havent) and a one terabyte hdd w/ sata 6 GB/s. Please help. Thank you

2 things to start with, are you patched up to the latest build.
Have you got directx9c installed as trainz needs this.

I recently patched to latest version and i have the latest version of directx, i believe directx 9c was installed when i first installed it

Tried OpenGL or is that perhaps what you are using in game? in which case switch to DirectX or try OpenGL if using DirectX. Also the game needs to run at your monitors native resolution. Plus it's advisable to do a defrag after a new install and an EDR, that may well improve things a lot, as you shouldn't be having any problems with that hardware.

ates
A note regarding DX 9.0C - the version in the Trainz installer is not the latest update. Use the information provided in my DXInstallHelper thread in this forum.

Also, make sure that you are running the latest drivers for your graphics card.

The 8 core nuclear reactor you have, you've got a good cooler on it I suppose.
PSU got enough power output, 700 watt ish.
Another thought, the psu on the 12 volt rail needs 30 amps minimum for the 560 ti, your zotac may need more.
Also a Direct x link below

Trainz might be doing an autosave. Depending on the size of the route it can take a while to do this. The frequency of the saves can be reduced or turned off under options.

There are a bunch of things you cant try:

Check that you're not running anything in the background.

Check your antivirus settings the program isn't doing a real-time scan on your TS2010 folder and subfolders.

Check that search indexing is disabled

Have you checked for malware?

Defragged recently?

You mentioned OC'ing your machine how are the temperatures? This includes your video card too. Is there a utility to speed up your video card fan? I have PrecisionX which came with my EVGA card for that.

These are a bunch of things I can think of offhand at the moment.

i have yet to ocmy graphics card and cpu, i want to get a better water cooler than the one i have now, i was looking at a dual fan. my antivirus will run one check every month on the stuff on my computer and it is set to only popup if it sees something doing something it shouldnt do. I defag and optimize every week. I never run anything in the back, though i occasionally use frapps, which makes my cpu usage go from 20% to about 23%. The max that my card goes when running the game is about 50 degrees celcius. make cpu temp when running is about 114 f. My graphics fan is on auto matic, even when i put it on 100% it puts it down to 40% at the normal rate that it is at. If avg does do a scan i get a popup leeting me know that any games running may start to lag but it never did that. Malware i already checked this week as it was the designated check day. Mostly everything here i have done.

ill check that, i dont really need an auto save as my computer never crashes cause my cpu never runs overly hot. The most ive seen used is about 27% while running trainz

for some reason whenever i switch to direct x i get a black screen and it sits there, no clue why, all my drivers are up to date, resolution is the native resolution of my screen, though i am using a 32 inch lcd tv as a monitor.

about the directx , i let it install it as i know some programs require an older version first then u upgrade and it works, i have the latest directx driver and also the latest nvidia graphics, i do the beta tests too, but the latest beta made the graphics in bf3 go screwey so i rolled back driver to latest regular driver.

currently have a 550 watt ps, getting a 1200 watt soon, cooler on my cpu is an antec khuler 620 version, keeps my core at reasonable temp. Hottest my computer has ever gotten(at least the cpu) was 138.2 f, which is right when my software emits a warning. Take note that this is while playing bf3 with video settings and everything on the highest settings possible and i do not lag at all. Lowered my entire case temp. The 12 volt rail i believe has more than 30 amps i know for sure but i dont know the exact number. ill try turning off auto save and see what happens.

Check cpu temp when using trainz, could be that causing the pauses, as it gets hotter it throttles back trying not to melt. I think you can set the cpu temp in bios.
