Frame rates

Hi all,

I have been using ts2010 for a while and I am only getting 5 to 7 frames per second on my 1680 x 1050 monitor can anyone tell me or suggest how I might improve the rates please?
My specs are;---
AMD 3.2 Dual Core
4gb of DDR2 PC2-6400 ram
GeForce GTS 250 1gb
Power supply Corsair 620W

Selected DirectX instead of OpenGL and a much improved simulator, 40 + frames, where have I been......

Take a look here http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html it is claimed to enhance game performance but I didn't see any benefit when I tried it

GameBooster helps shuts down unnecessary background programs and services that use up memory. I use it, and it certainly does do that, freeing up extra memory that Trainz can then use. You can customize what programs and services it shuts down, such as telling it to shut down the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) in Windows Vista, which will turn off the Windows Aero look and feel but will free up extra memory.

I have been using gamebooster for about 6 months now. I run it on my laptop. Definitely notice a difference when running routes that are heavily detailed. It works a treat when I run trainz classics and trainz 2009. I haven't tried it on trainz 2006 though. Since I run it on my laptop, I only use it when I take out the battery and work off of the wall outlet. I also like to use Iobit's turbo boost and gamebooster at the same time once in a while and I notice the fps increase a bit.

I have never heard of game booster until not. I downloaded it this morning and it worked great for me, made a big difference. Thanks for the tip! :wave:

i downloade all that stuf.. i feel like my computer had a kia inline 4 and now has a 454 Big block. thanks cascade.

With Trainz I am using 1360x768, the wide screen version of 1024x768.

if yuo lower your resolution you will get a better frame rate..
