Frame rates in Trainz Simulator 2009

Is there a way to tell what kind of frame rates one is getting from one's computer when running Trainz Simulator 2009?

You were able to hit the "Z" key (I think) in Micosoft's Train Simulator and a small readout would appear on your screen. I was running MSTS until a couple of years ago. The recent purchase of a new computer had me looking for a new railroad simulator and I just bought Trainz Simulator 2009. So far -- no problems I haven't been able to find a fix for.

Thanks for any info you may be able the provide.

Many thanks...

I did just as you suggested. Thanks for the tip, it (FRAPS) seems to be a really neat tool.

I would've said the same thing...but that guy beat me to it. FRAPS is a good tool for recording and taking screenshots, just save the shots to somewhere you can find them! I've run into that problem so many times. But if you are just looking for Framerates, FRAPS is easy to use.

Also, I'm not sure if my Key Bindings are default or not, but if the little numbers aren't showing, press F12. It will probably pop up.

FRAPS provided instantaneous fps readings which is great for finding which areas or objects are high poly and a strain on your system. The last line in the jetlog.txt file shows the average fps for the session you just ran.
