I don't mean to suggest that I'm the first to find it, nor the first to post it, but the other links are in parts of the forum where they might escape attention, and even for those of us not in the Antipodes, these might provide a bit of interest, perhaps during CM updates.

The local prototype here in Oz at the moment is definitely varied - with all these new private operators starting up and the larger ones (who had taken over the former government-owned systems when they were sold off) constantly changing hands and names, plus colourful new locos and rolling stock appearing on the track. 
Made me want to make a Small, Australian route and company.
