FEC Key West extension modern day

As requested by Damian (ROCKHIT);

It's February and RA units are bumped to Trail Service. Here FEC433 leads RA106 on Train 111, an Intermodal Hotshot with Autos on top from Bowden Yard in Jax-Flagler Yard in Key West.

Cool. I have never seen any FEC units in real life but I personally like the older blue/white look better. I noticed the trucks have been swapped and the body tweaked a bit...looks great! Maybe someday it'll get released?

Yeah i like the old blue scheme,but i had to do that RA unit,and since imageshack was messing up i asked Tolga could he post that pic up for me,and nice story Tolga.

Thanks Gisa. My fixes are working its way to the more realistic column, though one tweak I need to do is to whiten the cab. The lettered unit(s) are NOT supposed to have candy cane stripes but a white underframe, FEC logo on nose and rear, etc.

An untold number of cutbacks on Trainz progress left me to only progress slowly in three months... WOW....

I reskinned, and in most cases, redid the traffic light mast arm meshes. The texture is actually taken from a real traffic light pole.

Of course, these are still progressing works but a big breakthrough in Trainz.

Here's a new section, Vizcaya. Normally a metro-fail station, I made it a Tri-Rail station.

Road improvements, widening, and turn lanes are coming throughout the Pinecrest stretch. This is the only relevant photo I have available today.

Anyway, for Jax area buffs and / or members of the FECRS (Florida East Coast Railway Society), this route is currently being presented at the 2009 convention in the other side of the state! Richard was given a fairly up to date copy of this route and its counterpart, the Miami To Fort Pierce.

I will try to seek screens from Richard along the line to see how his convention exclusive runs worked.

UPDATE!

Another Trainz hiatus because of spraying glass cleaner on a GLASS screen of a laptop lands me at a struggled test that was done yesterday, despite distorted color in the laptop, it didn't affect screenshots (the preceding was the EDIT), here is a shot of MrScott's great lights along the Turnpike end of road bridge at US1 in Homestead.

FEC 216 Key West-Jacksonville with Pickups and set outs

It's 6 AM and we are in Big Pine to see this train arrive to get extra train cars.

Yard Job has 2 geeps as power. They pick up autos and manifest and 418 is decoupled to be added to 216.

After the hour long melee, 216 is off to Jax. Empty rock will be setout as it takes the Little River belt line through suburban Hialeah.

I get him at Spanish Harbor, Bahia Honda, and 7 Mile. All the shots below are areas that Nikos did.

IT'S... BACK!!!


The KWE is restored to a partly active route as of 9/2012. Reason being I am focusing on the Dade stretch between Homestead and Miami proper. I am sort of also envisioning a transportation solution that may be proposed in a large scale in the future.


S Miami has received progress around the "N Wye" which is the N leg of the wye with the Little River line, which was truncated in 84.

LOL.... Surely it did get the creative side. I like using this route as a creative outlet.

Anyway, ran a coal train for a powerplant by Homestead. FEC SD40-2s led the charge.

Dadeland Station (Metrorail: Dadeland North) is a new-meets-old terminal for Amtrak and Tri-Rail. Even though much of the route seems futuristic and modern, I like to keep things classic at certain spots. I chose art deco style stuff for Dadeland to answer that, and it'll show in the second pic.

Poor Nikos. Vote for close.

Poor Nikos... and myself. Time to time I'll furnish something on this route and update the thread, enjoying the beauty of the game of no deadlines. But with the way a particular number of users are acting lately and on one of my content threads I feel less enticed to share anything. My largest participation this year has been in a private Skype chat and may as well stay that way. More than close I would rather report the people who are creating this sort of trouble.

Keep calm, I'll put out another update, eventually
