I also did not see any Soo train: maybe I crossed the Soo line when no train was present, but this can also be the consequence of another, similar bug. The locomotives and rolling stock used in portal-generated consists are also not written in the kuid-table (this is a bug that is still present in TS12). In this case, however, the solution is quite easy: it is sufficient to use pre-made consists and then to add the kuid of the consists to the kuid-table of the session.
For your convenience I've uploaded all the portal-to-portal consists except for the Milwaukee passenger trains Menomonee and 133. 2012 might not like the BN SD-40's on the grain train, but perhaps there are updates.
The MILW Horicon-Milwaukee freights are numbered and their directions shown. I use a headway of 81 or 91 minutes. Morning (00:01 hours to 12:00) is 81 minutes on the Milwaukee portal, 91 on Horicon, then vice-versa in the afternoon.
The passenger trains are only required in Morning Connection though of course you may use them as you like. They consist of an F7A-B or A-A, a baggage-tap, 3-4 interactive OH coaches and a parlour car. The Horicon portal should pop the eastbound Menomonee at 08:12 with 133 generated at the Milwaukee portal 08:23. Your commuter should TERMINATE PASSENGER TRAIN at Iron Ridge. You are likely to be a little late into Iron Ridge so move smartly in IR 4. There are no freights scheduled in Morning Connection.
The CNW gets both freights and an Amtrak at each portal. Note that they run left-handed on double track, so CNW_from Oshkosh is the eastbound entry. Freights should be routed via trackmark CNW-FDL 2 while both Amtraks stop at the depot. I use a 41-minute headway eastbound and 53 minutes out of CNW-Chicago. That's good for 3-4 hours before there's a contention. That I know this just proves I'm nutso.
The SOO trains all go each way on a 36-minute headway, though I only run the grain train eastbound. 18 minutes is also do-able but leaves little time for shunting. The trains need to pop at the same time for successful meeting. Route the westbounds (from Chicago) TO TRACKMARK "SOO- South Fond Du Lac 2" and give them WAIT FOR TRIGGER "SOO EB Clear," then NAVIGATE TO SOO-Oshkosh. Unless Trainz has a memory infarction there should never be a contention. The eastbounds just get the order for SOO-Chicago.
Enjoy.
