FCT - worth it on a slow connection?

Learning... slowly!
Just wondering whether the benefits of having a FCT are felt when your home internet connection is pretty shockingly poor anyway, or whether it's only really worth it if you've got a decent connection?

The speed you get will be affected by your internet (the faster your connection the more benefit you get), although there are other important aspects for a FCT including removing the 100MB/day limit that's applied to non-FCT accounts.

I have just bought a new FCT before the price rise and while the pound is strong only costs £12.16
I have a very slow broadband and can only manage 80 to 170KBs but it's still worth it.

Further to this, I've just upgraded broadband from around 1mb/s to about 50mb/s, but there's absolutely no noticeable difference or increase in the speed of downloads from the DLS. I know there is the FCT but for those of us who've forked out for the game but can't justify luxury of the extra expense, is it really fair that downloading a loco should take an hour and a half?

Nonetheless, I'm grateful for the free content. Just mildly frustrated.

Unfortunately, getting something for free usually has it's limits (apart from freeware applications usually). In this case it's a slow download speed which can mean it taking ages to download. This has been the case for some time, and a FCT is the only way of improving it as well as helping to support N3V on the server cost side.
