Fatal Error

I've started to get a Fatal Error message every time on a layout now, it varies when it occurs from 2min into the game to 90 mins. The important line I think is :

c:\program files\auran\trs2006\bin\sound core_7c.dll

The only clue I can see is the "sound core" but as far as I know I've not added anything that has sound, however ( and don't laugh ) I would not know or hear it as I am deaf !!!

I've run trainz diag.. all ok and deleted assets and rebuilt but thats as far as my knowledge goes
Anyone got any ideas on what is causing it and how to fix it. ?

Then please share the info. I've seen this too in TC3 S&C Thames Clyde (Ride) and it is very difficult to pin down the source of the crash.

Thanks

Ian

Its not a fix, I remebered someone saying in a post that there are lots of items on the dls that can give you problems, so I tried to remember what I had added whether it had sound or not ( although I would not know ) and deleted them one by one til the problem was fixed, it turned out to be seagulls flying around two rocks !!, Now everything is working ok again.

However because of this I am from now on going to write down every new kuid that I add, the date and a note sayingt all was ok up to this point, then if I get a fatal error again I can try deleting the most recent kuids in the hope that one of them is " iffy " and causing the problem.

Maybe you might consider doing this to oust the bad kuids that we download from time to time
Thanks for your interest

I am. That is why I was curious. I am involved with TARL that records repairs for faulty assets. Out of 123,000 assets so far I have 17,000 with CMP declared faults. However, there are only a handful that crash CMP. I haven't done much in Surveyor so can't comment on how many more crash there.

Can you give us the kuid for the seagulls please. This is the second time I've seen comment in one of the forums concerning unruly seagulls.

It's probably 60238:36007.

I've used these birds before and not had any problems with them (that's in TRS2004/SP4). They fly around squawking happily and don't leave any droppings. Maybe it's those fish & chips I've been feeding them.

I use these too and have never had a problem with them on either of the routes they are on. They are a great asset to have and look good too.
