Fatal Error In TRS 2004

Hello, I really enjoy railroad simulator but currently its been having some problems.

Everytime i go to start up railroad simulator and press launch i come across a small box that says fatal error and lists some information.

The file that is had an exception is..

C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\bin\KernelStandard.ddl

Aparently kernel standard is having some problems operating on my system. (this game was working when i had my laptop)

I would hope to get this fixed and start playing again thanks for the help. :wave:

This is what I got. I can't even start the game. This is the deluxe edition, if that matters or not I don't know. I'd love to know how to get this working or move all the custom content over to '06 as that works fine.

Try editing the "trainzoptions.txt" file to disble the introduction - I forget the exact sytax - it's in the manual.

The video intro is rather too sensitive regarding hardware (certainly in 2006).

That gave a no go. The same screen comes up again. Also the launcher will only open once unless I log off and then back on again, still only once. The only way to try starting the game is through the .exe.

Can you run a dxdiag and post any bad reports here please?

To run dxdiag: go to start -> run and type dxdiag in the box. Then work through ALL the tabs in the window, performing all the tests provided. If this turns up any errors, please post them here.

Also run trainzdiag. It is in (default location) C:\Program files\Auran\TRS2006\Bin. Again, please post all results here.

I had no errors come up, and the test in 2006 came up success. I've just put a new 9600Gt graphics card in with the latest drivers. Just to make sure you know this is 2004 Deluxe Edition that's not working. 2006 works fine. OS is XP Media Edition.

I've tried the reinstall with all three of the versions I have. 2004, 2004 Deluxe edition and the 2006.

Hi,

thanks for the feedback re the trainz options...

With your mention of the new graphics card, I noted (on the nVidia page) that the driver updates appear to be spearated now.
I have a 6600GT card, and the latest drivers are for series 8 & 9 cards (only).

I wonder if you are suffering from a DX9 / DX 10 driver problem (DX 10 is only found in Vista - DX 9 is for WinXP). I speculate that the latest drivers are not optimised for DX 9

It may be necessary for you to uninstall the nVidia driver and install the oldest version you can find. If that runs, then update slowly and see if the later drivers cause a problem...
