I know I have to use the exporter, but what do with the .im file etc that it creates?
do i need to give it a kuid, how do i do this?

Topytypotopyyptyo, umm, typo.:p

Yeah, I KNOW that; I was trying to "read into" the typo to see if I could figure out what he meant, (as to be nice enough to not criticize the typo), but I can't imagine what he was referring to with that one!

well it was a typo, the 'e' key is right next to the 'r' key after all.

any who, the trainz dev site isnt sending me an activation email.

so does that teainz import automatically put whatever i export from blender dirextly into trainz?

If you look at an asset folder you'll probably see a .im, a .tga file and a config.txt file. The config.txt file tells Trainz which .tga and which .im file to use. Furthur details are in the Content Creators Guide.

You do not need to go through GMAX, in fact it's better if you don't touch it.

Read through the wikibook first http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Trainz and see how you get on. I'd try a reskin first to get an idea of what goes into content creation.
