This is something that I decided to do. This is not a response to UP threads or other heated talks I've gotten into. Seriously!! what other railroad had such beautiful liveries like the world famous 'Daylight', which would later on be considered the most beautiful train in the world? Surviving a Great Depression and 2 World Wars and NEVER going bankrupt once. Despite all the legal issues that the SP battled through in the early 1900s with the UP and Santa Clara county and many more than having to put with the Union Pacific's hissy-fits and childish tirade expressed in their propaganda encouraging the dismantling of the UP and came out of it stronger than ever. During the Great Depression of the 1930s was a solvent company when most other railroads became insolvent. Moved more war cargo and traffic in general than any other railroad.

So powerful that it actually was an institutional icon that was so powerful many of the towns and cities were built alongside the railroad and was considered one the best in its prime and was second only to the Pennsylvania Railroad as the most prestigious railroad in the country although it was larger than the PRR and at times was actually first place and considered the most prestigious RR and the best during certain spurts.

Now only if we had smarter management, then we might still be around.

This is why Espee interests me.

Seriously, we get that u love the SP, why not just show ur passion for it thru a route ur building or something instead of all these pointless threads?

By buying all the payware SP and using it in the game and worshiping it shows my passion plus I suck at prototypes one because I'm just not skilled enough to copy real life things, don't have any money to explore and travel to be able to get a feel for an area I'd like to create, nor do I have time do such things.

Practice; you think they all just got the skills to build a good looking route together with their breakfest? Just start, learn, experience, improve, like we all did / are doing.

Based on the ammount of time you spent making posts / topics, time does not seem to be a serious issue. Next to that there is google earth which gives you a high ammount of information without having to spent a cent on travel.

Stop starting topics and making excuses, start building instead ;).

I'm not making excuses it's reality. Also I'm not really interested in prototype modeling, it's just not my thing and it's really not that easy. I like fictional railroading where I can do as I choose and not have to stick to a certain protocol.

And you wouldn't understand what exactly I'm going through if you haven't been in my shoes. You think I have it made, well think again because I don't have a whole lot of time and there's more to life than just this. I used to spend much more time but I have other things to worry about. Like school, part time job, family, having to find a place to stay, more college, finding a career. Most of you people have been doing this a while. I've just started and don't want to take this seriously and make it all I do. I like to be well rounded and do other things besides this. I have even thought about quitting but got talked into continuing and getting better at this. Search Eastland Rocket and in surveyor sub-forum and you'll see what I'm doing.

I do this for fun and as a hobby, nothing more and nothing less. So you might as well get used to it. Plus I'm not a spam bot or just some troll on these forums. Yes I've done foolish things here. But that was then and this is now. So drop it, I'm over so should you. I'm not gonna apologize for my past a million times or roll over like a dog and kiss up.

So savor this because it's the last time you'll hear it from me. I'm not gonna change or say sorry for who I am and what I do. I'm just sick and tired of it. If I come of as ranting, I am because all people want to do is attack me and intentionally upset me and get in trouble then throw it back in my face. I'll no longer allow it. So if this offends you, then so be it because I'm always under scrutiny for something even though there a lot of other trouble makers on this forum.

When something bad happens, y'all blame me. When a thread gets closed, y'all blame me. When flame wars break out, y'all blame me. When life in general doesn't go your way or negative things happen, y'all blame me. I'm tired of the blame being put on me!! It's dumb, childish, and stupid. The blame game doesn't sit well with me and I don't do that to you people, although I could but what does it resolve.

So stop being a troll and complaining about what I do or how many posts I make in a day. If it bothers you that much, then ignore them, report it, or speak privately. Don't come out here and expose people like that, it's disrespectful and will get you nowhere. I had to learn the hard way, and I'm not a person who takes it lightly. I do bite back if you attack me like this.

Like I said this may be a little harsh, but enough is enough. I line has to be drawn and not crossed, which it's been crossed multiple times on these forums and something needs to be done about it.

People who commit minor infractions and get away with it and think they can just do as they please will lead to more serious violations as it's already been done far too many times.

I was just continueing on scratchy's words / suggestion, so I kinda didnt see this one comming.

I see a line of posts / topics that give me the idea you are running around in circels instead of picking a direction and hold on to that for some time. I'm sorry if I see the wrongly, but I fear I am not alone. When I see some replies of you with some (not all!) weak or semi-emotional argumentation, I recognise that as how I was years ago when I needed to "shut up and start walking". I know I needed to be pointed at it back then, so I am trying to do the same now with you, and so do others. I'm sure I probably picked a to harsh way of putting it, but since your reaction seems to be aimed at half the world it might also be a bit of how you read it, not only my writting.

If you got a general complain about stuff thats written to you, feel free to post but then not just only quote me but also quote a bunch of the other people you claim to be only reply to hurt you. I know I dont write to hurt you, but now it looks a bit like I'm the only bad guy.
If you, however, got a personal complain about me, do what you wrote yourself: "speak privately". I'm more then happy to have a good conversation with you; I'm sure we can both learn from that. I am not at war with you, and that probably also goes for most other people on this forum, and I prefer to keep it that way.

Go get yourself a drink. Take a short walk.

Perhaps we don't but it seems you believe everyone but yourself has breezed through life? I'll tell you now that I've not had things particularly easy (as I'm sure plenty more of us haven't) and I've had to work hard to get where I am now and leave the bad things behind. It's life - the school of hard knocks.

While I doubt that, you need to understand that people don't attack you for personal reasons, none of us know anything about you. What we see is the person you portray on the forum which is likely very different from the real you. You're not accused of trolling, spamming, etc but you do start an inordinate amount of threads which are quite often fairly disjointed. All I can advise (it's up to you if you want to use that advice) is instead of sitting typing out a new post as soon as you think of it, is sit back, mull it over then make an informed choice on firstly, if your post is warranted, and secondly, if it will make sense to the others who will read it. If it's a yes to both of those, sure, go ahead and fill your boots.

Kris, you often do this. No, I'm not attacking you. I'm just confused. The first line of your post says that you've decided to do something, but then you go into your talking about the UP and SP again. Never do you actually tell us what you've decided to do.

@RooRocz: Can't argue with your respect for the Pennsy, which I share. Though self described, it probably was "The Standard Railroad of the World." But better? We can argue. For me, the Espee wins, maybe by a nose, because it was instrumental in actually creating and developing what is now a group of several states. The Pennsylvania built into what were already largely mature, by early to mid 19th century standards. The Espee, nee Central Pacific, started from a place called Sacramento, comprising a barber shop, a few saloons, some general stores, a red light district, nearby mining claims that played out fairly quickly, and less commercial activity than would be considered sufficient to justify anything more than a few stage coach lines and the Pony Express. The Pennsylvania grew up in, what?, the commercial center of the United States at the time.

And why argue. The two, Espee and PRR, with the NYC and UP, together with a very strong supporting cast too numerous to list here, made the continental US possible.

I welcome this thread. I like optimistic people.

Some of the coolest searchlight signals were on SP.
