ERROR MESSAGE

I keep getting this error message, and I am more than positive it has been caused by faulty content. Running a train of Superliner cars caused TRS2006 to freeze, so I am sure if I can get rid of the Superliner cars (as well as other larger rolling stock items), I can get TRS2006 to work again. But is there another way around this?

Also, with the error message present, CMP will open, but it will freeze, and nothing can be done. Is there another way to delete content without opening CMP (if nothing else can be done)?

I don't want to have to reinstall the simulator, because then I will loose everything I have already created.

Please help.

Something else....

I thought I should mention a couple more things...

I am running Vista on a laptop.
Content Manager Freezes when it says 'Querying Ticket Status'
I DO NOT have a first class ticket
The same thing happens when CMP in Trainz Classics is opened.

Please Help.

Trainz has been running fine for 4 months or so, it just started experiencing problems now.

And...

Also, the error message first appears at the launcher. If you close it, you cn still do stuff within the launcher. If you click 'start', the screen says

'Trainz has encounted a problem and needs to close down...'

When CMP is opened, and error message opens with it. Once closed, CMP takes ages to 'query the Ticket Status'. If anything is clicked on at this stage, including the red X at the top right hand corner, CMP says 'not responding' at the top.

Please help.

I am wits end with trainz as this is not the first time there have been problems.

Is the download helper empty?

I find my CMP can get upset if there is anything left in there when its closed down.

Vista

Is it right that Microsoft are ditching Vista? Heard it from somewhere...

As people may know from my past posts, I never, but never buy anything that comes out immediately, I wait until the dust settles and the fix files have been circulated. But Vista hasn't been out very long.

It could be that the development time is so long they put them out before they are ready and give the user a multitude of headaches.

I stick with XP... I have the disc and if I upgrade have that OS put on in preference. As I never buy from a pre-made source such as PC World but instead have my machines hand built to my specs I don't have a problem with 'latest software'.

I didn't really have a choice...
I got my laptop for Christmas (I still love it to bits)

I wonder if there is a way to downgrade from Vista to XP?

But anyways, I think the problem is due to my laptop's systems can't handle large files in Trainz, as it was large files which caused trainz to freeze in the first place. Is there a way to upgrade so that a system can cope with larger files in trainz?

(I am no good with computer technical terms)

Thanks everyone,
Mitch

P.S. Nope, there was no items in the download helper.

Do you have SP1 install (service pack 1). I seen something about large file and sp1 improves it \0/ .
Hope this helps

Post your full laptop specs here

1. When you installed TRS2006, did you install it as an Administrator on Windows vista.
2. Have you got MS Net Installed?
3. Have you ran TrainzDiag to see if it passes all Tests?
3. Do you run Trainz in OpenGL or DirectX?
4. Whats settings are you using to run Trainz?
5. Have you installed the latest Graphics card drivers?
6. Any other software running in the background when you run Trainz.

and for CMP problems please read this thread: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=22293

I am not running any programs with Trainz, I am not sure if I have the latest drivers installed, I have run a diag test, and there are only a few items that come up with 'warning'.

I am not sure how to find my Laptop's specs....

thanks though,

Mitch
P.S. If possible, where can I find my laptop's specs?

You can always format your disc & do a fresh install of XP. (Service pack 3 is due out anytime & it's lots faster than vista.) But you will have to buy it. £50 is the going rate here. You will also dump all the rubbish that you don't need that your laptop came with. Hope you have good onboard graphics & lots of ram or you have no chance.

Hello

That tells you something is wrong with your Laptop software or hardware configuration.

The laptop specs will be helpful to determinate the problem too.

Which model of A200?

(The Toshiba site doesn't list an A200 with less that 2GB so I'm assuming the laptop is an older model)

Judging from the memory being reported as 1014MB I'd assume on-board graphics.

The slightly later bit of output with the graphics system details would be good.

It says Toshiba Satellite Notebook A200. So what needs to be done to get Trainz Running again?

Hello

Mike10 is right.

Your laptop uses on-board graphics and 1 Gig of memory is not enough to run Trainz.

Trainz runs better with Nvidia or ATI Graphics chipsets not Intel on-board Graphics.

I suggest you buy a new PC or Laptop.
