Hi I was wondering if anybody could tell me if there are any electrified routes on the D.L.S. that can be imported into trainz classic 3, settle & carlise, british if possible. I have tried a couple but end up with missing track and just white lines. Hope somebody can help . Thank you.

Hello Mallard2007,

I have noticed in the past, that when I have installed electrified engines into Trainz Classics 3, including Railwaves payware, they don't appear, it is as though the simulator was not designed for electrified routes or electrification, there is no catenary included in TC3, and no pantograph engines or consists either. I now only use Trainz 2010 for all route building, that way I can get the best out of both worlds, both electric and none electric lines.

Hope the above helps and good luck with your route finding

To be completely specific, Trainz was not designed so that electrified engines would actually run off catenaries. At the moment in Trainz, the catenary only gives visual flair to add to the realism. You can very easily take an electrified train that requires a pantograph and put it on a non-electrified line.

But as for finding electrified routes, I cannot help you sorry. Perhaps you can list the KUIDS of the missing dependencies of the ones you have downloaded and we might we able to help with locations?

Search for Ohmtalbahn on the DLS. Sorry, not U.K., but very nice. Search in the screenshot forum if you want to see some screenies in an unrelated thread.

Metrorus.ru and Trainzdepot.net have electric routes that should work with TC3 as well.

Edit: Look in the freeware section for the Bridgehampton Metro route by Paulzmay, updated today. That's a tram route but I hope this helps.

Yes I understand what you mean, but it was not what I was saying,

What I was saying was Trainz Classics 3 UK version, does not accept any engine or consist with a pantagraph, it is the same as putting non compatible DLS items into Trainz 2012, they won't appear. You can install the electric engines all you like into TC3, but you'll never find them in Trainz, as they will never appear.

For electrified routes, you can use Trainz 2009 / Trainz 2010 / and Trainz Simulator 2012, but not Trainz Classics 3 Settle to Carlisle.

Hope the above helps

Thats unusual. I'm running one in TC3 and the pantographs work just fine...

I even just checked them tonight.

I have tried to install the railwaves electrostars and class 90's to Trainz Classics 3 and they don't appear.

However, after a quick look through the Download Station, a lot of items have been updated to TC3 and Trainz 2010 standards, I wonder if the config files have been updated and this is the reason why the Download Station pantograph engines and consists now show up in TC3, but my own railwaves stuff doesn't appear, because I have not updated my config files. When I last checked back in 2009, all DLS content was up to Trainz 2004 / Trainz 2006 or Trainz 2009 standard, now some of that same content has been replaced by TC3 and 2010.

So I think you maybe right Conductorphil, the pantograph engines may now actually work in TC3, just wondering though, does the overhead wires appear too?

I use snowsignals UK catenary, it is the best that is around at the minute, which is built in most versions of Trainz.

Many thanks Conductorphil for the reply and the updated information, I might fire up my old TC3 and see what happens.
