East Kentucky

... I trashed 2010 some time ago. Horrible frame rates. And in compatibility mode, fps is even worse. Makes my eyes water!!

Wandering off topic - but when I first tried TS10 I hated it. Uninstalled it in fact. Frame-rates were way worse then 06, proportions were out and the perspective sucked. At that time I was running it fullscreen at my monitor's native resolution of 1920 x 1080. Native resolution is always best on a flatscreen, right? WRONG! I now run TS10 windowed at 1680 x 1050 and the performance is incredible. Framerates at least double what they are in 06, and so smooooth. Even when the fps slows a bit in hi detail areas the display is still smooth. Fullscreen it lurched around like a drunken sailor.

All of the above applies to Compatibility Mode, I have virtually no experience in 'Native'.

1680 x 1050 is still plenty big enough and the slight sacrifice of display area is made up a hundred fold by display quality. To Gus and anyone else suffering low fps and/or the stutters in TS10, try it windowed. You just might be blown away by the results...

Enlightening observation Dermmy, but I have no interest in 2010 exceot for your EK3. When EK3 is available, I'll reinstall 2010. Until then it will remain a useless waste of time and $$.

Dermmy, first off your latest screenshot is stunning! Very nice. If 2010 can deliver that kind of quality, I'm getting it as soon as your route is released.

:Y:

I bet you're tired of trees! I'm sure the wide open spaces of Clovis will be enjoyable when EK3 is done.

:)

Fantastic !

Viewing your route screenshots ... one can almost hear the screaming loco's in Run8, with Full Dynamics howling through all the remote Appalachian Mountain hollars ... "so real, you'd think it's Memorex"

What would be great would be a couple of Fraps video's of your great routes !

As for the Greenery Trees they look fantastic, the only thing missing is the Kidzu plant/tree infestaion (a SE Asian plant purposely brought over, and was planted throughout the country, in hopes that it would help control erosion in the US ... entire mountainsides vegitation are choked off with Kidzu, and it covers everything including power poles and lines, like right out of a Steven King movie, a huge USDA mistake = FAIL ! )

I have a couple in the works but vid making is not my strong suit so it might take a while to get something finished. In the mean time you will have to make do with stills...

Excellent Video and soundtrack Andy. I am really looking forward to this release. Considering that you used MS software to render, it is surprisingly good. Keep up the good work.
