East Kentucky Route

The route East Kentucky from Check Rail looked interesting so I followed the instructions and downloaded a bunch of cdp and zipped files and proceeded to load them into Trainz12. I made sure that I followed the CheckRail instructions for the Trainz12 version.
When I ran the route the scenery loaded up but you can see the baseboard wireframe pattern on the mountains behind the trees and there a white lines everywhere (perhaps where tracks should go). The proper tracks are present and its possible to drive the route.

I went to the Content Manager and selected the route and clicked on Errors and Warnings and I get:
Error: Dependency <kuid:370528:1290> is unknown.
Error: Dependency <kuid2:45324:24802:1> is unknown.

Going to the Scenario East Kentucky (USA) I get:
Warning: Missing or invalid selection for tag 'category-region' in 'profile'.
Warning: Missing or invalid selection for tag 'category-era' in 'profile'.

I am not sure where I go from here as the errors dont seem to refer to missing items but rather unknown ones.

Can anyone help?

Peter

Peter - The unknown items are missing. Unknown means that they aren't on the DLS or, as sometimes happens, that CM can't find them there. Dermmy is very good in providing links to all of the non-DLS assets required for his routes. I think if you go back to Checkrail and check the list of dependencies for EK3 you'll find the ones you're missing. You can ignore the two Warning messages. They won't affect the session.

All the 203465 stuff is mine, so I suspect you missed this download at least.

If you have all the track but still have white dashed lines you missed this paragraph on the download page...

Missing Bridges. You show no missing content, but there are dashed white lines where there should obviously be bridges? A very simple config fix will resolve this problem: Locate the assets <Kuid:46819:38129> and <Kuid:46819:38132> in Content Manager. Open for Edit (Ctrl+Shift+E). Double click config.txt. Locate and delete the line 'name', easiest way is to place the cursor at the beginning of the next line and backspace till 'name' is gone. Save and close config.txt. Close the Edit window. Commit the assets (Ctrl+M). Should be good to go...

Anything else still missing is listed by kuid on this page - anything not listed is definitely DLS content, you might need to search manually if CM is playing hard to get...

Thanks for the help guys. I have managed to find all the assets and now have no errors. The picture shows my view on starting the scenario. I tried editting the two files mentioned above but could not find a line with "name" in it.

Could be that the DLS updates have caught up with those bridge assets, but you are definitely missing a vegetation spline. Those white 'lines' show where it should be. There are also missing ground textures in the background. Check your 'Open For Edit' tab and make sure it is empty, if not select any line in it, then 'Ctrl+A' then 'Ctrl+M' to select and commit everything there...

Thanks Andy,

Nope. The Open for Edit Tab is blank. So I guess the big question is what kuids am I missing and where do I get them? I rechecked my downloaded cdp files to do with ground stuff like shrubs and trees but they were already loaded.

CM will tell you what you are missing, but ALL the non-DLS trees, shrubs, etc are in one download, so if you have some you must have them all. If they are not showing up and are not 'open for edit' then you got me!

CM can play hard-to-get with ground textures. There is a cdp at checkrail which contains every texture ever reported as 'missing', but those background textures have never been missed before. They are definitely either DLS or (pretty sure) built-in....

Andy,

Thank you for creating a really wonderful route. I am enjoying your USA session as I type this. Your attention to detail, choice of textures, and placement of the buildings really makes the route come alive.

The frame rates are terrific using Pofig's Speed Treez. I run Trainz in a window and the frame rates displayed in driver have hovered around 60 fps through out the drive.

Well done!

John

Just thought I would let you know that I now have this working fine. I just went to the Missing Dependencie tab and selected the East Kentucky line and hit Download and a way it went. After the downloading finished I hit Ctrl M and launched the game. Fixed.
