I'm a huge fan of the EBT, I was defending this thread from needless spam. EBT does need support. It could be an amazing historical site if it was just better funded.

I wouldn't pay to see that...
it would be a steam doubleheader.
I wouldn't either, these locos stay where they are,if that were to happen,that could mess up the EBT railroad's reputation and history because of such dumb ideas!

and besides this railroad is famous for hauling coal and now we have someone here trying to deface that railroad's legacy which I think he has no respect for,talking about bringing in more steamers and the railroad already has 6 mikados on their roster and to me,that is enough steam engines for them!

Yeah, there really is no reason to have them all running, but imagine the bragging rights they'd have! 18 and even 16 and 17 are a little excessive for tourist operations, but 18 would just be cool to see because of its size. Unfortunately she hasn't run since before the EBT closed as a common carrier.
a sad sight now that I think about it ,but as long as they are all in good condition, I am happy!

Good is a relative word... I wouldn't necessarily call 16 or 18's condition good.

yeah I wouldn't,they seen their better days!
I'm hoping their better days are yet to come... at least since their first two decades or so.
They "look" good can you settle for that?
I'm glad to hear the EBT is thinking again about expanding on their original mainline. It's too bad Walley and BK took over some of the yard trackage. This is typical when a rail line has been closed. Even though the land appears abandoned, it may not be.
This has happened up here on the commuter lines (to change the topic briefly). The MBTA has decided to restore service south down to Fall River. In the intervening years since the line was last used, the NIMBYs have built on the ROW and are now complaining that the line is being restored.
Now back to topic. I would love to visit the EBT some day. I have family down in PA so it would become a day trip while staying with them.

#346 looks good. Though I think everybody prefers that she's running.
I hope that we can get some work done on 318 soon. She will probably never run again, but she will at least look good in our master plan
Everybody got #315 running. I'm sure #318 can have a go again.
