Dynamic Brake Tutorial - train won't move

I'm trying to complete the Dynamic Brake Tutorial, but I cannot get the train to move from the start.

I put the train into Forward (F), I release the brake (Q), and then I start the throttle at 1 (W). I have turned on and off the sander, and have increased the throttle slowly up to 8. The train refuses to move. I've let it sit for almost 2 minutes in real time and it won't budge.

Any hints? Or is this a bug? Thanks!

You changed what 3 units? I have no idea what you mean. The tutorial just says to move forward.

I'm still trying to learn this game.

This has been discussed before and recently as well I believe. I believe there is a problem and from memory the brakes have to be bleed by holding down the D key (?) until the brake pressure drops to zero. You might want to search for similar threads.

I changed the three diesels to another model and all is well - but try releasing the brakes as per Alkiwi first.

Releasing the brakes (D) worked. It would have been nice if the tutorial had mentioned this anywhere at any time.

In any case, thanks for the help, guys!

The only mention I can find regarding the 'D' control is in the TRS19 wiki article:
[h=3]Brake Cylinder Pressure (BC)[/h] The Brake Cylinder Pressure display tells you the current pressure in the brake cylinders on your locomotive. Any value above 0 indicates that the brakes on your locomotive are applied to some degree, and may slow or stop your train. The locomotive brakes may be applied with both the train brake and independent brake. When the train brake is applied, you can 'bail off' the locomotive's brake cylinder (this will release the locomotive's brakes) by pressing the 'D' key.

You still need that keyboard in realistic control. :)
