DS assets crash my Trainz! (TRS2006)

Hi everybody.

On to the problem:

I've had Trainz 2006 for quite a while now, but when I get assets from the DS displaying in CMP, Trainz does not work!

What happens is:

When I click 'Start' in the Launcher, the button goes green, but nothing happens;

When I start the game from CMP it goes onto the loading screen and then it freezes.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Did you run TrainzDiag to see if your PC passed all the tests to run Trainz? C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\Bin\TrainzDiag
What's your PC Spec?
What version of windows is your PC running?
Try deleting assets.tdx and assets.bku files again then CMP will re-build the database, just wait while it updates the database.
also have you got MS Net installed?

Trainz and CMP Freezing Tips - This problem is caused by a software or hardware issue on your PC.

Hello

1. What version of Trainz have you got running on your PC?.
2. Trainz and CMP need atleast min of 2Gig of ram to run smoothly on your PC and make sure no other programs are running in the background.
3. What version of windows have you got on your PC, if vista make sure Trainz is installed as an administrator on your PC.
4. Have you ran Trainzdiag? to see if your PC passes all tests to run Trainz: C:\Program Files\Auran\TC\Bin\TrainzDiag
5. Have tried deleting the assets.tdx and assets.bku files? so CMP will re-build the Trainz assets database: C:\Program\Files\Auran\TC\assets.tdx and C:\Program Files\Auran\TC\Cache\assets.bku
6. Have you got MS Net installed?
7. To disable sounds in CMP: In CMP go to file then settings then miscellaneous tab then tick disable sounds in CMP.
8. Have you got the latest video card drivers installed for your Graphics Card?, recommended Graphics Cards are ATI or Nvidia with a min of 256mb ram.
9. CMP or Trainz still not working must be a problem with your Trainz installation, you may need to re-install Trainz again
10. You still can't get CMP or Trainz working then list your PC Spec here.
11. Still no joy in getting CMP or Trainz working: must be a hardware or another software issue on your PC.

I think this means MS dot-net (framework), since MS-net is simply the network communication built into Windows NT

Don't worry, all is working swell. Whenever I want to use trainz, I just deny CMP internet acess and rebuild the database. No more comments, please - the situation is done.

3. Cache gets deleted but Somehow I'm unable to delete Assets.tdx It says i need to close all other programs before deleting this. I had TRS2006 and the CMP closed at the time.
4.I tried it only deleting Cache bin and a message says I need to run trainz once. I already ran TRS2006 once before downloading the SP SD40T-2

I hope you're closing CMP before deleting the file. This would definitely prevent you from accessing the file. You might have to wait a few minutes if you've just launched Trainz and closed it as the process may still be running in memory.

If you think the process is still running, press Ctrl+Shift+Escape to bring up Task Manager. If the program shows up in the Applications section, and says Not Responding next to it, click on it and press End Task. You'll get a warning, so click on OK to have it do its thing.

If there's no application, check the Processes Tab, and look for trainz.exe, or Contentmanager. exe. Do the same thing, but right mouse-button clicking on the task, and choose end-process or task (can't recall at the moment what it reads, but its essentially the same thing).

Once the program has been killed off, try deleting the assets.tdx file.

UPDATE!

I download and it doesn't crash! I now need a way to stop the cache bin and asstes.tdx to stop. I need to restart my computer and delete the files again in order to run trainz again after downloading stuff.
