CRASH

Hi guys
why does my trainz 2022 game always crash by itself, it can even cause a blue screen.
chronology: I use quite a lot of PBR addons but there is no pbr at all on the route. I want to screenshot with low/medium/high shadow mode. well when inputting 10 pbr addons with medium shadow mode settings (1 locomotive & 9 carriages) the game suddenly refreshes itself like a blank white screen sometimes also a black screen.
my friends said that their gpu had a problem, but I played other games like counter-strike 2 & apex legend without any problems. I think this is from the game engine.

my laptop specifications:
i5 11400H
RTX 3050 4GB VRAM
24GB RAM (8+16GB)
SSD (512+512GB)
Windows 11 Home Single Language
Driver Always Up To Date

I have not seen a blue screen in quite a while and that was not caused by Trainz.

I very much doubt that the PBR textures are the problem. Possibly your Trainz settings are all on Ultra which may be the issue for your CPU but that is not certain.

Your specs seem ok or better than ok (the CPU may be on the lower limit but that should not be an issue except as mentioned above).

Other than that, my immediate suspicion is a faulty installation. In that case I would uninstall TRS22 completely and then reinstall it. If you install using the full installer (assuming you bought it from the Trainz Store) then you can save it to a backup drive to avoid the time and ISP charges if you ever needed to install it again (such as now). If you bought it from Steam then you may have no such option.

My suggestions.

I bought trainz 2022 on steam, there was no problem installing it. is it possible because i turned off windows update? which caused a crash in rendering in trainz 2022?. moreover i also did a reinstall 8x the result is the same.I hope someone can help me via team viewer / ultra viewer

I would qualify that by asking are your drivers (especially audio and video) updated to the latest manufacturers versions? Windows Update has an annoying habit of sometimes replacing hardware drivers with its own generic Windows drivers. That can and has caused problems.
i turn off windows update

i turn off windows update

That, in fact, may be your problem. No guarantees but Trainz, like other Windows programs, uses the Windows API to operate and has to follow the API rules set by Microsoft. Those rules can and do change as Windows itself changes and developers are forced to comply with the changes.

There was a recent (in the last 2yrs) example in these forums of a few users complaining about Trainz suddenly not working (crashing, freezing, etc) after a Trainz update. It turned out that those users had not installed a critical Windows update that the Trainz update, as per the API rules, required.

Going back even further there is a forum member (who is still active so I will not name him) who was still running an old original release copy of Windows in which he had turned off all updates because he did not trust Microsoft. After installing the then latest version of Trainz he discovered that it was not working and, of course, he blamed N3V. Several members of the forum walked him through the Windows update process and he got Trainz working.

Like them or loathe them, Windows Updates are a necessity. Some bring new features (which we may not use or need) but they also bring bug fixes and plug security holes.
