Driver Setup AI capacity

Is there a limit on the number of AI drivers the system can handle????

I'm running TS2009 with TS2010 as an add on installation.

I think I may have too many as Driver Setup does not always load my drivers properly when I try to edit them. Ouch!

There is no limit on how many AI you have running on your map. Although there is a limit of how many your computer can handle.

As for Driver Setup, It will automatically apply drivers to Locos that you place on your route until you go into and edit it. Once you edit driver setup you then have to manually place drivers on the desired loco.

I think the limit is dependent on your system specifications.

Anyway, I always thought TS2009 and TS2010 were seperate products.

They are but you can install TS2010 on top of your TS2009 installation.

2009 - 2010 and AI stuff

If you install 2010 and have a current 2009 the setup presents you with the option to install it as an addon (upgrade???) to 2009.

OK I have about 50 AI drivers on a larger? 9 by 12 section layout. When I select Driver Setup to edit them it will load them all and I can see each driver and all the commands - but when I try to click on them to add or edit commands I get mouse flyover pop-ups that indicate commands for an AI driver elsewhere on the list. Sometimes I can edit a few of them, sometimes all, sometimes none. I've reinstalled everything a couple of times to no avail. Am wondering if I should just do 2010 as a clean install intead of as an addon to 2009.

I'm running a quadcore processor, a hot Nvidia video card and the max memory XP can handle so I suspect it is not a hardware limit.

I have had similar issues when running more than about 15 AI trains and their drivers. There is a "Rule" floating around on the DLS somewhere to delete excess consists if there are too many operating on the layout at one time. (You specify how many you want in operation).

It is actually a "Driver Command"

Description:
This driver command causes both the driver and his/her train to be deleted from the session. This occurs as soon as the driver executes the command.

Due to the nature of this command, selecting it from the menu will cause a confirmation dialog to be displayed. Select 'Yes' on this confirmation dialog to add the command to the drivers schedule.

Please note that once the command has been executed, the deleted driver and train can not be recovered!
