Downloading from DLS - and CMP

Is it always necessary to download content on the computer where 2006 resides? The local library has high speed and I'm still using dial up. Didn't know if there is a way to get CDP files and then use them at home. Getting Routes this way would be a big help.

Hi Bruce,

You can but it is much more labor intensive. Go to the Download Station website. There's a link on the menu bar of this forum's page. Find the asset you want and then choose the "Download Page" link rather than the "Download Helper" link. This will give you the option to choose where to save the file before downloading. The drawback is that you have to download the dependencies one at a time instead of CMP finding them for you.

ok, i have the same issue, i've downloaded a few loco's, freight cars etc, now where/how do I add them to the game?

If they are CDP, CDP2 or EXE files, double-click them.

If they ZIP or RAR archive files, extract their contents. If that results in one or more CDP, CDP2 and/or EXE files, double-click them. Also check if the contents include a README file with instructions.

Otherwise, the web site you obtained them from should have some instructions.

Install Downloader Pro on a usb stick then access the DLS from this at the Library .It will download what you want as well as dependencies. Then install the CDP's when you get home.

It takes up about 10-11 mb on my PC so 1 or 2gb stick should do fine to hold the program plus athe downloads
