Download Stattion problem

This has never happened before. I want to download something using download helper and I get this message
The webpage cannot be displayed

Most likely cause:

  • Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed
I have no idea about what is going on, and to top it off
the info bar at the top of windows explorer does not say download station. It says Trainz simulator 2004. What ???

Well the tab at the top of my Firefox 7.01 says very clearly "Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004" when I am in the download station - and always has.

Have you somehow disabled/deleted Flash, Javascript, CSS, graphics, multimedia, etc in your Internet Explorer Options?

Which version of Trainz are you attempting to download to?

Whichever version it is, it must be run as administrator at least once, and in the case of TRS2006 or later, Content Manager must be run at least once as administrator.

See my tutorial website if you are not sure how to do this.

I am aware of that, but the question is still important.

He is attempting to use the Download (Helper) link, which uses Download Helper if it's TRS2004 or earlier, or Content Manager for later versions.

OK. I think I have a solution to your issue, but this will only work if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

I have a page on my tutorial website with instructions on how to run a program as administrator by modifying it's shortcut.

Once this is done, run Content Manager once, then close it again, for Trainz to register the required registry information.

The address is http://shaneturner12.awardspace.co.uk/trainzdata/index.php?page=running-as-administrator.
