Just tried it & it's working for me, just downloaded some scenery items.

Have you installed SP4 ?

heres what i did some weeks ago i had a problem with windows XP-pro ,so before i re-formated my hard drive i copied the whole of the tranz file from C/program files to an external hard drive , the today copied it back, the game its self works fine ,the problem i have is when i try to use download station its telling me that something is missing , i`ve checked that my CD serial number is a Registered Serial Number and all my other data is correct ,i`ve just installed the latest directx ver 10, yet still no joy when trying to download .
yes i think so its now version tranz2004 (build 2.4 version 2365) i`m sure i installed service pake 4 but i could be wrong as it was 9 months ago ,

means yes you have SP4.
Now I'm not sure about this 100%, but..........................
I think I've read somewhere on these forums, that copying the whole of the tranz file from C/program files to another location, then copying it back to a reformatted drive doesn't work. (something to do with the registry)
All I can suggest, is that you save your "WORLD" folder, delete TRS2004 & do a fresh install & SP4 patch, then replace the new "WORLD" folder with your saved one.
Someone else may know another answer to the problem, so leave it a bit longer if you can, for someone with a bit more knowledge than me.
You could also ask on the DLS threads, it may get more notice there.

Many thanks for that yes you could be right about the registry,seem to remenber about 3 years ago i had the same prob now that you mention it ,i`ll leave it a couple of days before i do what you suggest again many thanks for yur prompt reply .

yes your correct about not being able to save the tranz folder then transfer it back, i had to spend the last 2 hrs re-installing Tranz2004 , i am now able to download as normal, thank goodness i save the 3Gbs+ of downloads on to a disc ,all i needed to do was replace the `world` folder with the copy i had saved to disk

reinstall from external hard drive
Hi All ,
Not played Tranz for a few weeks , I saved the complete `Auran` folder i found in "C Program Files" on to an external hard drive the deleted tranz via Add /Remove , today i thought I`d reinstall , so just copied the lot back to Program Files then created a short cut to my desk top, Tranz2004 runs OK BUT when i go to the DLS and try to download anything I get the message
tranz://install/<kuid xxxx (or what ever it be ) Application not found ,
reckon it might be a link missing or will i have to reinstall tranz from scratch
Anyone got any ideas so i dont have to reinstall everything again

The DLS seems to be having a few problems.
An enterprising modder has just uploaded a revised version of my Fort William to Mallaig route. Using TRS2006 CMP it cannot find the item at all, even inputting the KUID or descriptive words. I can locate it using the old TRS2004 DLS page and it (eventually) goes from the Download Cart to CMP but there it sits. CMP cannot identify the file size or start to locate the dependant assets.
On UK Trainz there is reference to newly uploaded items not working properly, i.e. not locating the required assets.
Seems the DLS is a bit borked.
As I've only got about 4 days left on my last FCT, I won't be buying a new one until this situation is rectified - even though i'm longing to see the community improvements to my original route.
