Could somebody at Auran please give us an update as to when normal DLS service will be returned.

People do have patience, if you keep them informed.

Peter

well auran

the one things that peevs people more than anything is LACK OF COMMUNICATION and you seem to be a prime example on what NOT to do a wee note of apology etc..... would go a long way itstead you treat us like mushrooms ....... keep us in the dark about eveything and also as you may reading the other replies people like myself with purchased FCT's wonder do we credited for the lost days, seeing as it is not at our fault for the downtime ??
a note of some sort ??? soon ?? thanx
I mean i do think you owe us some sort of expalnation ?? :(

How about "Our staff have been reduced from 70 to 3 and we are in the hands of a liquidator".

If that's the case, then customers are owed at least an explanation instead of misleading responses like "It's Being Fixed" and "It Will Return Soon".

Neither of those statements have been made by Auran. What they have said is "the problem is being addressed" and "Currently acting on it" and "hope it will be fixed soon" Of course, you can interpret that any way you wish.

What we have to remember is that Auran now has only a skeleton staff, and they are in the hands of a liquidator. I see nothing in what they've said that guarantees a return to normal service. They have chosen their words wisely because, worst case scenario, they might be out of business next month.

I think explanations and apologies to the punters would be very low on their list, when they're facing the possibility of oblivion.

I think you are spot-on OzBoz. I hope the few Trainz people at Auran can go on and get the Trainz running again. I suppose we all should just wait and see what happens. Perhaps speak some words of encouragement to the crew instead of the bickering, blaming, flaming and whining because the DLS doesn't work for a few days.

Well said.

There's also the fact that it's the weekend here, and Auran doesn't really work on the weekend, oh and the fact that the server is located in the US, and Auran relies on being given word on how things are progressing over there. They need time, and many people are impatient and want things done yesterday.

Doesn't work that way, unfortunately...

Chris

You are absolutely correct, they owe us nothing. Who are we to complain about service being down and not a word of explanation. Who do we think we are to make such an imperious assumption? Did the crew of the Titanic owe the passengers anything when they jump ship and left them to flounder? Of course not! They had other priorities than the well being of the people, mainly saving their own donkeys and leaving everyone else to find their own passage off. So with that in mind, I think I will just wait until the last iceberg passes and abandon ship. Oh, and I'll be sure to post several "I'm Leaving" messages as well.

Server problems & response

I think the FCT is US $9.95 PER YEAR. Very cheap,in my opinion, for access to tens of thousands of items. I would gladly pay $9.95 PER MONTH for better speed/service. As a former communications technician for the CN, I guarantee our servers were never down more than a few minutes. It was #1 priority if they went down. But, we were running a real railroad, not a virtual one.
Oh, well, wait and see.

You are actually comparing the death of more then 1500 people with the DLS being down for a few days?

I guess its indeed time you bail out from here.

A harsh comparison, but apt considering the dependence of people on the DLS for their projects, many of which are payware.

Sorry Moderators,

...but I couldn't let that load of garbage go unchallenged. Apart from being a gross insult, it is not even accurate. Do not rely on Hollywood for historical facts. Read some of the accounts of survivors and check the figures.

Of all the passengers on board, 61% perished, and of the crew 76%. Of the total of 1495 souls who perished, 686 of them were crew. Most of the lifeboats were not even full, so the crew didn't make a very good job of "jumping ship"

Mods, I'm hoping for the right of reply to correct a mangling of history, but if you delete, I will understand. In that case I will PM the poster.

Cheers
