Download Operations

Can a Trainz 2010 user recommend a good location to research and learn how to use Content Manager and how to add downloaded content to my Trainz 2010 menus? I an really interested in Civil War era railroad operations and the USMRR.

Thanks in advance for everyone's assistance.

Download Station and Content Manager

So I think I have figured out the Content Manager and have been able to bring a Locomotive from the Content Manager to the program itself. But now when I attempt to bring ANY car from the Surveyor list, and place it out on a track, nothing happens.

Is there a patch or something that I missed? I downloaded the latest patch and installed it and the program was working great this morning.

Any suggestions? The files downloaded in and said no warnings and no errors. I notice that they are colored red on the Surveyor list of locos.

Thanks for the help.

Do you have them checked as "favorites" in railyard?

No. Will try that. I am concerned that it won't let me add ANY from the loco list now, not just the new content.

If they're coloured red in the Surveyor list, then that almost definitely means that content is for an older version of Trainz (1.3/04/06), and probably plagued with errors as well. Try setting 2010 to 'Compatibility Mode' - this allows most old content to load in 2010, but the trade off is the software runs less efficiently (routes may be 'jumpy' etc).

This makes most older content work with 2010, but there is a few items which just simply will not work with 2010 even in Compatibility Mode, which need to have the errors fixed (a slow and complex process). However, old content is slowly being fixed by content creators luckily so updated versions will most likely appear on the Download Station as time progresses. :)
