Double Slip tutorial needed.

Johnk

Boarded October 2001
Several years back when the first edition of Trainz was released, I wrote and published a tutorial on how to make a working double slip switch. My hosting service failed to send me a renewal notice and removed everything on my site assuming that I no longer wished to continue with them. Not only did I lose entire web site and tutorial, I also lost a database with a thousand entries called the "Trainz Resources Directory". When the matter was finally sorted out, the hosting company told me they hadn't archived any of my stuff, so everything was lost. My archived copies were on CD's which have decayed over the years in the harsh tropical climate where I live. It seems I had a faulty batch of CD's because other brands are still working ok.

I've only loaded TRS2006 back on my computer after several years of illness. I'd like to get involved again as long as my health holds out, so if anyone downloaded the Double Slip page(s) or has them on their web site, I'd love to get a copy. I'll revisit the tutorial, rewrite it, and maybe even make a PDF document and a video.

Thanks in advance for your help.

What a shame.
Hope your health improves - come over to England where it is nice and damp;)

Looking forward to your tutorial if you can get it together again.
Best,
Sellick

Hi Sellick, I destroyed my left hip operating a guillotine during my days as a printer. I was in agony with a severe limp and suffered depression for over 30 years and couldn't concentrate on anything. The tropical climate helped. Finally, after years of fighting the powers that be, they replaced my hip a couple of months ago. Now I feel so happy being without the pain I lived with for most of my life. Thanks for your kind words and one day I hope to get to the UK.

Thanks a million Paul. That's my tutorial! Note the date - 2002. Wow, time flies. I remember allowing someone to place it on his site, but I couldn't remember who. Good old Tranz.luvr, he always did the right thing by the community and I'm thankful that he's kept the tutorial alive. I really enjoyed reading it again.

Mystery solved. Thanks.
