Some background is in order before I post the links to the pix.

I love fantasy stories. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, Piers Anthony's Xanth stories, the Myst trilogy (although I've only read the first one), even The Polar Express... all favorites. Myst contributed the idea that in an infinite universe, anything is possible, so I could create a world and it's got just as much potential to be real as any other world.

And so, Toytopia was born. It's a continent with approximately the same shape as the continental United States without Canada or Mexico. Florida got fatter, and New England became a large island called Athearn Island. The largest city is Plasticville, locaded about where the New York-Philadelphia area would be, at the southeastern mouth of the Plastic Channel that creates Athearn Island. The national capital is Toytown, located about where Richmond would be.

Located in the Soreback Mountains, which are the Appalachians only slightly younger, is a group of shortline railroads. These form the basis of my first Trainz 2012 route.

The Slim Mountain & Southern RR interchanges with the mainline Broad River & Northern at Robertsdale, then runs north and a bit west to the town of Slim Mountain. A branch turns east to Slimview at Wundurwhurdisgoh, connecting with the 36" gage Red Valley & Slimview at its end. At Slim Mountain, the SM&S interchanges with a short mining railroad operated by the Slim Mountain Mining Company. The SM&S also shares its Slim Mountain depot with the 30" gage Donnocatta & Yeldir Dam Ry.

As of this posting, the D&YD is about 90% complete -- finished enough to share some photos. I haven't even finished the SM&S to Wundurwhurdisgoh, and the RV&S and mainline BR&N are yet to be commenced.

So, to the pix. Please provide constructive criticism with detailed rationales and/or suggestions. Thanks!

The D&YD's main purpose is hauling cucumbers to the Sackawanna Pickle Company in Slim Mountain. Here, the train passes the northernmost cucumber plantation near Donnocatta.
