Does anyone remember the "SCS Scenario Creation System"?

Perhaps I wasn't clear. The management of assets(taging) is an essential element in an overall time based management system.

Still not really what we are talking about here - we want something similar to MSTS or DTG where you set up timetabled activities in a purpose built editor with an easy to use UI. Now it might be for freight, as opposed to passenger, you want to set up a list of instructions as regards picking up and dropping off cars en route but that would be a function of the editor. Such editors do not normally get involved with the complexities of "diagramming" loco, rolling stock or even crew assets.

EXACTLY - the question is, how much stuff do you want that process to do.. Just a process, as you describe, would be great. Other features (complexity) could be added if needed. A simple as reasonable timetable would keep me happy.

SCS is only one of the third party improvements that have been trashed by new versions of Trainz. Off my head I can think of Mike10's animated points, the program that disabled assets not used when you ran a route, Trainzmap, the program that would display animation, Andi06's "pre wired" points and I am sure many more I can't remember. C'est la vie.

Mike, SCS was usable with the early versions of TANE. Also, about that time, Mike Carter began having trouble with his eyes, I believe.
He seem to lose interest in SCS about then. Also, NV3 kept making changes to TANE that were making in almost impossible to extract the data that SCS needed.

Thank you for clearing that up Dave. I was testing for Mike when he first created SCS.

But i was only involved up to SCS2006, through the TPR forum. (IsambardKBrunel)

Auran\N3V do like to move the goal posts at regular intervals.

I thought SCS was the best thing since slice bread.

Thanks again for the info.

Mike.

Ahhhh, another guy who is a fan of "the best thing since sliced bread"!!!
