Do I copy or purchase again

Just got myself a laptop, now I would like to put T:ANE on it.

So do I simply copy and paste the Trainz main folder, or do I have to re-purchase, or is there another way to get T:ANE from pc to laptop?
Thanks in anticipation of a solution.
Cheers.

You shouldn't need to repurchase as it's possible to re-download the setup files or just copy the folder over.

Only thing to make sure is that you also transfer the local data folder over as well then point the new T:ANE install to that folder.

Just to add to Shane's advice:-

The standard Trains licence allows you to have the program installed on more than one computer provided you don't run more than one at a time...

You can (broadband & allowance permitting) always redownload from the Trains website.

Hi Val, Just a tip.
It's always a good idea to create cdp files for your 'prized' routes and sessions on say, an external hard drive.

This allows you to do a normal re-install of your Trainz version, then add whatever routes you want, whenever you want.

Cheers mate,

Many thanks for the feedback. Managed to install on laptop from N3V website. On the downside that poor old laptop cannot handle T:ANE SP3 at all. Guess its just to frail to handle a teenage program haha. Ah well stick to pc.

Yes Roy, I back up those prized routes as cdp's on a external drive. You may remember in the early days of the Blue Mountains route when I lost the lot. That wont happen again.
