DLS not workinf after SP2 install

After installing SP2 into TRS09, I am not able to download using the DLS. Whenever I try (multiple times over that last 4 days) I get this message. Unable to download, the server appears to be full, please try again later..
The question is how many later's are there. Surely sometime during the past 4 days I should have been able to DL something? When I first tried to DL, I had to re-register as my log in details had gone from Auran's computers. I'm not happy with the DL problem, A: because I have a first class ticket which now has only 4 days left to run, B: because SP2 seems to be the problem in that the install process has either deleted some of my assets or corrupted them, C: Because SP2 now will not let me run Trains 06. To be totally honest I made an expensive mistake in getting TRS09 in the first place and my experience with it has been more annoying than satisfying. Having spent nearly $100 Kiwi on a game that is as useless as an ash tray on a motorcycle is a bad experience, that will be avoided in the future. I guess with Auran it is a case of Buyer Beware. :(

If you had used the "SEARCH" button at the top of this page, you would have
found plenty on this problem, along with some very good suggestions on how
to solve it.
But no, you decide to have a full on rant instead. Carry on if it makes you
happy, but it won't get you access to the DLS in a month of sundays.

Yes and I read and tried suggestions on the threads

But nothng works. I even completely removed all of the AURAN directory and did a complete reinstall including both SP1 & SP2. Still nothing works, But now I dont even get CM2 to recognise the DL station content. Yes file associations have been checked. Yes I am Pissed off. What is a forumn for if not to spill ones guts when ALL else has failed.

unfortunately i must agree

I too am a tad agrieved.
tried auto.
didnt work.
came here.
searched, got some useful ideas, tried them.
no luck.
downloaded patch instead.
came here.

have had the laptop going continuoisly now for three attempts and it stops with the bar half way across and says it fails. I cant turn anything else off.
now im posting.
What next???

It is a reality for some of us it plainly doesnt work. Its about time some of you came off your high horse and stopped being so precious and acknowledge it just doesnt work in some circumstances for some people. Abusing them for having a rant on a forum about the product is a pretty intersting line of arguement. We're all wrong and morons cause we cant make it work. Marvey customer relations.

I do recall a past upgrade where one had to re install and before starting it open the patch and run it and if this was done on the first sunday of a new millennium by a hand picked virgin on top of a sacred volcano while eating cow in oil from the first picked fruit, one would have success.

now if that upsets some precious darling, well quite frankly thats a bit of bad luck im afraid.

There are numerous exampes of commercial patches and upgrades that are smooth and invisible. Its hardly treason to make the suggestion why cant this software package also make seamless and invisible upgrades??

With so many distractions to chose in my little private/home life going through this every time there is an upgrade, check my profile I've had them all, its a case of maybe diverting my time to others. Maybe some of us need to get out and get a bit more Vitamin D sometimes.

kindest regards
Mat

server appears full error is solved by going to your profile and changing your password.

It can be the same password.

This forces your profile to 'reinvent' itself and 'finds' your serial numbers.

jedimastermat,
Did you try to do the SP2 installation from the message, telling you that SP2 is available, that appears when you launch 2009?
I tried that a couple of times and had the same results you did.
I downloaded it manually from here and it worked.

It does take quite a while to download and it does give the impression that the install has stalled because the green progress bar moves very little. As long as it doesn't say 'failed', it should be installing.

Thanks Jim
yes I did download it from the thread. I did it as an administrator with AV off in safe mode and it still got 50% through then fails.
did it again last night, screeen saver off, power options altered to never, shut down the itunes stuff, closed any application that I could without crashing Vista
im going to give it away for a bit and maybe sit down another ime and have another go. Bit past it.
thanks for dropping past
Mat
