i am having this issue from the first day i bought amd gpu .whenever i start playing any game after few mins my game freezes and it say catalyst driver stop working and has been recovered.i tried older versions too but no go .i want to know how to get rid of this as this thing is ruinning the image of amd gpu bcz its my first amd gpu as i change from nvidia
my speces are
core i3 3220
gskill ripjaws 4gb 1600 mhz
asrock b75-m
msi r7770 power edition oc 1 gb
cooler master 500 watts

If you are using the drivers from the install disk, I would suggest getting (download) the latest version directly from AMD. I have a msi HD6670 with no issues at all.

i never used the driver that comes on disk.always downloaed latest one.right now using 13.1 with win 7 when i bought this gpu i was using win 8 with previous version same problem was then

You may also have leftover driver from Nvida, changing from Nvida to AMD/ATI can be a pain!
first i was using win 8 when i had nvidia 550 ti.then when i buy msi 7770 i used it on win 8 same problem then.now format my c drive installed win 7 but same problem

What would happen if your PSU can't cope with the load:
  • bad 3D performance
  • crashing games
  • spontaneous reset or imminent shutdown of the PC
  • freezing during gameplay
  • PSU overload can cause it to break down
You have a 500w PSU which is enough for the system, just wondering if it's failing.
Just been checking, you have the AMD catalyst cape verde drivers and not others ?

the problem is with driver.i keep using this system with same psu except gpu this thing never happens

i dont know what is cape verde driver.i installed amd catalyst version 13.1

Have you got win7 SP1 installed quote AMD.

The AMD Catalyst driver requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to be installed.

Also note below.

Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers are no longer bundled in the AMD Catalyst software suite. The WDM drivers install bundle can be downloaded independently through the AMD website.

Hi kamran,

I had the same message just after I downloaded catalyst 13.1 too. Rebooted computer, and it has not happened again.
Note: My computer runs 24hrs a day so does not get rebooted often, except when updates require it.

Cheers,

trainz build is 49933
the issue i found is that it requires win 7 sp1 which curently i dont have.window automatic update is trying to install but its giving error.so i think absence of sp1 might be the cause

If you see post #11 I mentioned that.
Good to see the cause may have been found. Re install catalyst driver once you have it.
A tip, instead of using windows update use microsoft update.

Just get SP 1, a re install is not needed.
Or use the win7 disc to boot up and select repair if you think there's something wrong.

done but no go problem is still there.with 13.1 the game wont even run and with previous version game runs but same issue amd driver has stopped working and recovered
