Disappearing Trees

I think this has been covered before, but I can't find it. I have recently managed to apply the SP1 Patch (long story in itself) and its two hot fixes. I lost a lot of my user-data libraries, which I have re-downloaded into my routes. However, when I open those routes all my trees disappear after the routes open. The tree names appear in the content creator but there are no trees there. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Wow I'm glad I read this ....

I have just downloaded the patches for my trains but have not committed (installed) them as yet.

did you find an answer? what trees are you talking about is it all tree's? or just a specific type?

I have over 255K's of single track and passing loops ... nearly 500mtrs elevations changes with over 20 K of trees and other scenery installed, on 3-6 base boards wide. as you can imagine I would not want this to effect my route...

Hi Chris,

I have since installed the third patch to SP1 and some of my trees have re-appeared - however; none of my Ultra Trees show up, which is a real problem for most of my routes. I am now busily updating my copy of Trainz 10 just so I can get rid of the errors and finish a few routes I have been constructing for the past two years.

I have had that problem on my trainz 2010, also the original routes were erased from it after re installing it to my lap top.

Check in Content Manager that they are not marked as faulty or open for edit. Sometimes, well mostly, when a database repair is run assets will have false errors. The errors will prevent the content from loading.

Also check for any content updates. The content creators have been repairing the missing thumbnails which will cause errors and prevent assets from loading on the route.

If there are no problems with your content, as noted by Content Manager, try switching to Open/GL from DirectX, or vice a versa. Sometimes the program favors one display driver over the other. I have no explanations for this.

thanks guys very helpful indeed.. I have also applied the patches to my ts12. all seemed to go very smoothly... with no errors ... my current project route loaded with out and missing items that I know of.. but because of its size I'm finding that the all too well known editing pauses.. while it loads or saves.. are more frequent. and seem to rake longer..

but aside from that.. I'm happy to say my work is safe..:-)
