Different way to adjust object height?

Is there a better way to adjust object height? I am having a problem getting a station building to match with a platform spline height that it is supposed to match with. When on the platform, the stations doors are cut off and the concrete base of the station building is underneath the platform. I was wondering if there is a better way to adjust the height. Any help is appreciated

Default height adjustment is +/- 1 meter. Finer adjustment can be made by holding down the Shift key (+/- .05) or Ctrl key (+/- .1) while adjusting height.
