Desert Vegetation

I am working on a route in Southern California. I am looking for desert vegetation. I know JVC Treez had some good payware at one time. I am running TRS19. Does any have any suggestions?

Thank You
Michael

Check out a lot of the Uintah and Timber Ridge plant and tree assets that Dangavel has uploaded to the DLS. He has done a LOT of work to make his desert plants look lifelike for his routes. If you want to have a look, check his route threads under the freeware and screenshot forums, or download the routes and try them!

Does your TRS19-Platinum edition give you access to the T:ANE (Dlx) built-in <kuid2:487560:69000:6> Mojave Sub Division ?
That has some fairly convincing desert scrub and cacti that you can plunder.

There are also several built in ones, search "plant" in surveyor. Lay them all out and pick the ones that suit your route.

Another idea which I have done:

Look for trees that would look good for desert shrubs, if only they weren't full sized trees. I have done this using several of the built-in eucalypt trees. Lower the height until it looks like a desert shrub. Do it a few more times with the same or different trees. Be sure to randomly rotate some. Then group them together until you get the density you want - not too dense. Then tools/copy/paste/rotate wherever you want.

In TRS19 I created a single-board route where I laboriously planted - in rows - an example of every single tree/ plant that the Platinum-edition had to offer.
I used it as a reference for choosing or avoiding particular trees for any new route I was creating at the time.
The 'plantation' takes some time to create initially - but it saves a lot of time and effort when seeking out the perfect vegetation options for the new route you're creating later.

Note that there's also a built-in route from Auran that contains content samples of various assets, including desert vegetation, included in TRS19 and TRS22.
<kuid2:661281:200019:8> Content Samples #1 (TRS19 version)
If you hover your mouse over the plants/ items in Route edit... 'Objects, Get Object...' mode, it will reveal the name of the asset so you can choose to include - or exclude - that item from your own route creations.
