Deleting missing assets....

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this. When you delete missing assets, you kinda dont really delete everything. Example: in TRS06, create a new route, save it without adding anything to it. the file size is 85.42. reopen that route and place one item and save it. the file size changes (in my case 85.49). All I places was an "abandoned station". I then deleted that object from CMP, reopened the route. now its gone. (though it shows something should be there when I zoom in on the mini map.) I then "Delete missing assets". The square in the mini map still stays. I saved the route and went back to CMP. the file size is now 85.47. Should it not go back to 85.42? I went back into the route to the copy/paste section. I copied nothing, and pasted it over the phantom asset. only then did it disappeared from mini map. I saved the route, opened CMP, the size is now 85.42. This kinda blows. I wanted to rid my route of all the trees. so I deleted it from CMP, and clicked Delete missing assets. and places new trees. Though the old trees are gone, my route is peppered with hundreds of Phantom trees, that now add to the file size needlessly. any suggestions?

I believe that you need to shut down trainz then reopen it to remove the assets after the delete. When trainz loads it will read all custom content and uses the tdx data file for other content. These files do not alter because you deleted and saved as it was created on the opening of trainz. So the data base may still have the asset for that route.
