Deleting Built-in Traffic from Roads ???

Howdy Folks....
Regarding roads that have traffic, I have read through the Forum and subscribed to several threads that discuss making changes to them. I cant quite find my answer(s) .

First, is there a road that will generate ONLY the traffic I choose to add to it? For example, to be used within a localized construction site that is intended to carry only concrete trucks, dump trucks, etc.

Or secondly, is there a way to ELIMINATE and / or CHANGE the default traffic that is generated on a road, and then substitute that traffic with the construction traffic?

There may exist a TEMPLATE whereby I can choose the road, and then the traffic that is loaded unto it:udrool: , but I cant find it.

Thanks to the great Trainzers here in the Forum, I have found the help that was necessary to add static vehicles to the road. I would like to avoid having family sedans going through the confines of a construction site:hehe: !! Thank you all for your fantastic assistance in the past. ..............................TRS2004 at 2365:wave:.

Added infomation to clarify...........Again, thanks to the folks here, I have been successful at converting static vehicles to "locomotive status", and then adding them to invisible track. But that then requires that drivers be assigned. What I want is a CONSTANT flow of construction traffic without any driver commands..........

No it is an all or nothing choice. If you create custom traffic for the map those cars and or trucks are on all the roads on the map.

You could lay invisible roads and using the 'drivable superadapter' then assign AI drivers to drive on these roads. (kuid2:78193:950:1)

Thanks Lynxfan. I sorta thought that, the inability to separate or isolate my construction traffic. Well, I guess my answer is to continue with the driveable vehicles on invisible track. I wanted to avoid assigning drivers, but this is TRAIN SIMULATOR............, not the 18 WHEELS OF STEEL truck simulation!!!!!!:hehe: Thanks again for your great assistance.

:hehe: Hey, what a coincidence, I play 18WOS too!

Hi Nicky9499... I have never played it, but I have watched several videos on YOUTUBE, Looks like a lot of fun. Trainz is my love, especially since I have a little latitude with airplanes, boats, and vehicular traffic. So, 18 WHEELS will definitely not be replacing Trainz!!! Just wanted some more of the little things to make Trainz even more enjoyable. Thanks for the feedback. Have a great day.

Does anyone know what happens if you disable the built-in cars with Trainzobjectz (assuming its TRS2004 we are using)? I know it removes them from the object palette in Surveyor, but does it also mean they aren't rendered as road traffic? Just a thought...

Hello Dinorius_Redundicus... Do you mean the built-in traffic on the roads? Sounds like a great idea, especially if I can swap out the sedans and render only traffic I choose. From what I have been told earlier, the traffic I select will be on all of the roads, which would be okay if that is possible. I will continue to monitor this thread. I can get around my concern by making static vehicles "locomotives", and then assigning drivers, so all is not lost. Have a great day!!!

But the sad part is after hiring driver and buying trucks and all that stuff, you get a pretty successful hauling business. And that it when it suddenl gets very repetitive, I've put the game away. Far too boring. Let's continue to have fun with Trainz huh? :D

there is a thing called traffic control out there somewhere

Unzip to your Custom folder (C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\World\Custom)
The folder named TrafficControl-off contains the folder kuids that will replace the default traffic.
To activate the replacement:
1. Open to your Custom folder ( C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\World\Custom) in a window
2.Click on the TrafficControl-Off folder
3.You will now see a TrafficControl folder
4.Drag and drop it on your desktop
5.Then to activate the replacement, drag and drop the "TrafficControl" folder from your desktop into the main Custom folder(C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\World\Custom)
6.The traffic in all your routes has now been replaced with the cars & trucks that are in the "TrafficControl" folder. Yes unfortunately it does the replacement in all routes and not just one or selectively...
But the good news is...
that it can be turned off easier than it was turned on.
Just drag the "TrafficControl" folder back into the "TrafficControl-Off" folder and the default Auran traffic will have returned to all your routes.
All this takes more time to tell you than it does to do it.
I have used "Whecsailors" wonderful old Jalopy Jungle cars and trucks to replace the default traffic but you can use other cars and trucks or bicycles or whatever if you like.
The trick is to ...
1. Place a copy of the kuid folder of the car or truck you are wanting to use as a replacement on your routes into the "TrafficControl" Folder
2.Change the Kuid number to your own ...mine is 60250 so in the config file I rename the Kuid to <kuid:60250:29008> for example. (Look at configs in the "TrafficControl" folder, you'll see)
3. In the config obsolete table I place the kuid number for the car, truck or whatever, I want to replace...
like this...
obsolete-table {
0 <Kuid:-1:100623>
}
This will replace that car wherever it appears on your routes.
The default car will return when the "TrafficControl" folder is dragged and dropped back into the "TrafficControl-Off" folder.
This is a neat trick using the double folders to turn them on and off.
The really great thing about it is that it can be used for other things too...track, buildings...etc.
WARNING...DO NOT UPLOAD ANYTHING THAT REPLACES ANYONE ELSES KUIDS...OR AURAN WILL TAKE THIS AWAY FROM US !!!
Have fun!

(Fikalaker).......................................................hope this helps

??

This would be great, except there's no "TrafficControl" folder in the ..\World\Custom folder and never has been.

I have a feeling that there is some important information missing here. Please give us the complete story!

Thanks Dreddman. But I cant find a TRAFFICCONTROL folder either. I have TRS2004, and after some digging around, I found a partial answer. I was able to locate 3 kuids that allow the adding of a REGION when initially creating a route. They are 1) kuid 86311:1900 VINTAGE UNITED STATES, by Zatovisualworks, 2) kuid2:121787:90000:1 REGION DDR, by THUI, and 3) KUID 84912:1200 AGE OF STEAM, by Brook.

These three kuids can be modified. By editing their config file, you can eliminate their default vehicles, and load any that you want. But as I was told earlier, these vehicles will load on all roads, not just a "construction" zone. What you can do is load one of these kuids, copy it to your own kuid, and then modify it. If you were to have a layout of the 1800's Wild Wild West from the USA, you could name the region OLD WEST. (***When you initially create the route, you simply select OLD WEST region, not one of the four built-in default regions.***) Then you delete the default vehicles, and replace them with horses and wagons. Not ideal, but you get the idea.

Anyway, I am playing around with it now. The biggest problem now is that some vehicles move faster than others, and tail-gating is a problem. :hehe:
