I hope somebody can help me:

I have a defect Object on my route I can' get rid of:
Autor: qcyk85
Name: MD mur zasieku weglowego v1 (it's a wall-spline)
KUID2:438004:37001:1

Picture here (see the dotted lines...)

Please help me -

- how can I get rid of that spline-object (I already deleted it im CM and had a database-repair running - no effect)

- does anyone know how to repair that thing??

- has anyone a functioning version???

Thanx for your help!

Wolfgang

The dashed lines in your picture usually refer to a missing spline rather than a faulty asset.

Check the route for missing dependencies in CM. If any show as unknown make a note of the kuid(s) and try searching here:

http://www.trainzkuidindex.com/

if they still cannot be found do a Google search for them or ask on the Forum for help finding them.

Yes, it's a spline.
I don't have missing dependencies in my route.
As i wrote: i deleted the faulty spline-Object (or at least tried to). It is not in my database anymore (but somehow still producing the dotted line).

I tried KUID-Index, no result al all...

Anyway, I just want the dotted lines go away. What could I try next???

clueless:

A deleted or faulty spline will default to a dash line built-in KUID.

I know how to repair faulty splines

I have posted this spline repair tut many times and have
use it 100's of times to fix splines DL from many sites.
http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showth...y-assets-to-2-9-for-TS2009-and-later-versions

So far no one has ever let me know if they even tried.

Well.. I got most of it to appear.
Sorry that one just won't 100% work
I'm going to work on it because i don't like it to beat me.
So I can now replace Wall of coal bunker
with Coal staithes / bunker scenery.

The only faulty line is the one starting with organization . After deleting this one there are only warnings remaining, the wall shows without problems in surveyor.

First of all THANKS!!:Y:
Well..I sure been making this much to complicated.
I'm curious...This the first time fixing a faulty spline has been this EZ.:D
Do you have any more tips like that?:o

Hi Peter,

i deleted the line with organisation (in config) after opening it with explorer and saved, restarted trainz - still no change in the route, but no warnings in cmp...

i opened the object with content creator plus, found an organistion - tab (highlighted in yellow) and deleted that also. In result i earned some more tabs, this time red highlighted. Still dotted lines in my route.

What have i done wrong????

Wolfgang

deleded the spline in cmp, same picture in my route.

Hi Wolfgang,

You may want to revert your asset and edit in CM using Edit in Explorer from the edit menu. CCP has a way of munching older assets as it attempts to update them to the new version. With the asset open in Windows Explorer (File Explorer in Windows 8.x), you then see the folder content and you can simply edit the config.txt using Notepad or some other text editor.

Just remember to close the folder and commit the asset before looking for it in Surveyor.

Hi John,

I'm really desperate (am I such a dumbass??) because I tried everything you suggested and that (very BAD f-word)ing spline-thing is still lookong like it should not.

I deleted the line "Organisation" with txt-editor. No more warning in CMP, but still dotted lines in suveyor. Restarted Trainz, had a complete database-repair...

If I can't use it, how to get it off my route??? In surveyor it is untouchable... Deleting in cmp has no effect..

Helplessly hoping...

Wolfgang

After you have deleted the asset in CM you could try using "delete missing asset" in edit session. (It does not work in the route editor for some unknown reason)

The best way to do this is to clone the route in CM or create a new version ingame in route editor using save as.

Then return to the Routes Tab in game.

Go to the Sessions tab.

Open a blank session (create one if there is not one).

Then in menu, top left, click on delete missing assets. You should get a message saying the route layer is locked do you want to clone or unlock the route. Since, if you are following these steps, it should be a new route select unlock route. After a short pause you should get control of your pointer again (if you are at the point on the map where the dashed lines are you should see them disappear). You can now save your new route and session in the usual way.

Any sessions linked to the original route can be edited in CM (or preferably clones of) so that the config.txt file points to the new route by changing the kuid reference in the Map container and the corresponding reference in the kuid table.
