Database repair is stalled

For some reason, after upgrading to 129343, while scanning for faulty assets, the database repair has stalled, even though the bar is still moving. Does anybody know how to fix this glitch? I already cleared my internet cache, so this shouldn't be happening. My computer has been on for three days, which can't be good for it, and all the drives are healthy.
 
I've had that before (and just after I updated recently too). It looks like the process has hung and the hard drive doesn't seem to be doing anything?

I've usually found that it just takes a long time to clear the last couple of files (I've usually had to leave it running for a bout a day). If you've been waiting for three days without resetting it, that's longer than I've seen it take before.

The latest update has assertions enabled. While the database was rebuilding an assertion notice will crop up. You must delete or ignore it before the database will continue.

Then why’ve I not seen any assertion notices pop up during the repair?
 
little update: it seems the assertion messages are only limited to the beta versions, and mine isn't the beta. I'm gonna try deleting the library cache as suggested in another thread.
