Database Repair And Faulty Assets

I have noticed that over time, random assets will randomly become faulty. Why is this? Is this normal? Also, I just re-installed Trainz, and placed the local and original folders back in UserData. I was told to do a database repair. I don't know if File > Quick Database Repair or File > Extended Database Repair is better. I tried the quick one and they all say they're still faulty. Currently doing other one. Is there a different way I'm supposed to do this? And will the database repair fix the assets that decide to randomly go faulty when it happens?

Just finished the extended database repair. I notice absolutely nothing different. Everything is still faulty. It says under Errors & Warnings:
Error: Internal error. Unable to validate asset hash-1b\kuid 523 1046 at the current time
It says this on all of the assets. What type of database repair is it? Because the Quick and Extended ones found on the File menu did not work.

The database repair will usually be the cause of this, not the solution.

The solution is to re-validate the assets by setting the Faulty=True filter, selecting everything, right-clicking and selecting View Errors and Warnings. This will remove the Faulty flag from the assets that are not actually faulty.

I'm not sure if there's a way to stop assets being flagged as Faulty. It does not happen at all in my TS2010 but seems to be common in TS12 from what I've read. (I own TS12 but I don't have it installed or use it)

Didn't seem to remove any of the tags. I opened it and it said Validating. Still getting the

"Error: Internal error. Unable to validate asset hash-1b\kuid 523 1046 at the current time"

message on all of them. Plus, even after the file backup, I open Trainz and none of my things pop up, not to mention whatever does pop up is faulty, but none of which is mine. (downloaded or that I redskinned)
Also, tutorials doesn't show up on main menu, along with content updates.

What you need to do is view errors and warning on the assets. If there are only a few, you can select them all, right click and choose that option in the menu. The error window will open up, showing the errors. Close this window and when you then click on the assets again in the list, they will disappear.

Now this doesn't say that all the assets will be gone now. If there are any actual errors, they will remain and the asset repaired.

There are 6601 of them. That's a lot. I tried selecting all, but it didn't work when it validated them. So I'd have to go one at a time....?

But why doe's this happen i'm starting to get it with a lot of content now i just had to go and do this with sum of Davido's Content to be able to use it this is getting frustrating.

That's a lot of assets and that can lock up things badly which you don't want to do! Select maybe 50 or 100 at a time. This will move rather quickly though so don't think haven't selected too few.

This happens, I presume, is caused by the asset being opened and checked. Why it happens to some assets and not others is beyond me. It could be a variety of reasons which I don't know exactly. Perhaps Shane can help us in the morning when he comes online.

I've been recently receiving this error in TS12 too (Error: Internal error. Unable to validate asset hash-ec\kuid *NUMBERS* / at the current time) and my solution was to remove and re-install the assets that are faulty.

Post#8 may be the only solution. I haven't seen a suggestion on doing a "revert to original". Have you tried it?
