Don't know if many of you are awate that Youtube has been raken over bt Google. Google is atempting to turn us all into mindless tobots and stifle any individuality. Many people on youtube display there individuality by puting up some realy great pages in which they have put in a lot of work and creativity.
From the 7th of March. All this will be destroyed, and all Youtube users will be forced to adapt a drab uniform page format. Google wants to get rid of all of us individual users, and turn it into another internet TV station.

While your point may, or may not, have merit ... it does not pertain to Trainz, trains, or railroads, I do not believe it belongs on this forum.

I will examine the Old YouTube vs New YouTube point that you bring up ... but I need major amounts of cawwfee right now.
 
Lets see.

Youtube is offering their functionality for free. Now they are chaging their free website. And now you want to complain about something you never payed a cent for?

I am pretty sure you are also free to start your own website and do the same. For free ofcourse. With even more typo's if you like.

@Cascaderailroad, the reson I posted this is because many TrainZ users have video's on YouTube, so in a small way it is relevant.
BTW; I made myself a cuppa before I started this rant:cool:

@Oknotsen, I think you somehow missed the point here, Youtube might have been free on the surface, but they made millions from other peoples efforts by selling advertising space. And now that Google has bought Youtube they want to turn it into another internet TV channel. Maybe you should watch the video I linked to in my first post, and also have a look at some people's channels yo see all the effort they have put into it. for many Youtube users it was an outlet for their creativity.
As for my typo's, only excuse is that I am almost legaly blind:wave:

Possibly why YouTube is changing is because 1.3 million totally lamebraned, idiotic, nonsencical, mindless videos made by children (and adults with nothing better to do but to upload nonsence videos), and they are uploaded to their site daily.

The video storage space must be phenominal !

G'day,

I tend to disagree, I found aealy interesting and helpfull series of railway video's on there, which gave me a lot of info on the landscape and scenery I am trying to model. Also there are several "How to" video's for Trainz newbies. And don't forget, YouTube makes loads of money tom make loads of money from all the video's people upload do they can afford the storage space.
I do admit that there is a lot of rubish and Youtube also, but lets not throw out the child with the barhwater.
And lets not forget, while we get our jollies from creating our own worlds in Trainz, many people use their creativity by cteatining realy interesting and good looking channel pages, and I have seen some realy beautiful and imaginative ones. Just like the Trainz forun, it btings people with like interests together.

Google is a business, a big business, and as such it has every right to change what ever it whims concerning properties it owns.
Yes, complain. Sure, protest. Absolutely rant and rail against the big bad corporate monster changing the face of the interwebs!
Remember though, this is not kiddie stuff. This is not "play around and feel important by posting a video of this and that on Ewe Tube." This is a business my friend, and businesses run on the bottom line and the top dollar and making so very happy to the share holders. They couldn't crap a "oh you dear poor thing" for your "loss of individuality" unless it brought them closer to this quarter's target! It's time to wake up and stop sniveling about changes to some stupid video posting site. What, you think posting a video to Ewe Tube makes you an individual? Ha! Another lamb to the slaughter is all you and your ilk are!
There's plenty of things to protest, plenty of complaints to air, and plenty of ranting and raving that need to be done. I'm talking important issues, but they have you cornered in your little world, over wrought with concern because "individuality" is being threatened. Do you really think each one of us is an individual? Maybe to GOD, but not to Google. We are all consumers.

So, stand up and fight for your "rights", as if you ever had the "right" to be an individual, but remember what the immortal bard once said:

"a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

I would have posted this in larger print, considering your disability, one that I feel empathy towards, as I suffer from a degenerative eye disease, BUT, you seem to have no problem with reading the earlier posts, so I assume you've made some type of visual accommodation on your end, so I chose not to.

You Tube has to be paid for some how.

I am sure if google made no money out of it - it would be gone.

The bocott to force google to change may just back fire.

If there is nothing in for google they have no need for it.

From what I can understand, is that it will be the profiles will be changed to a Facebook look a like as well as any copyrighted match can lead to a banned account.

Not sure if this is 100% accurate on what is exactly going on, but from what the video and the new YouTube channel looks like, it seems likely.

That's quite allright. You couldn't have known. The main problem is that the keyboard overlat is getting worn out and all the letters are turning into big white squares. :D

YouTube & Google+ (as well as all your other Google Services) are already linked together (including search!). Google plans to make it more streamlined & more into one service.

The copyrighted thing isn't anything new YouTube has been doing that to accounts well before Google had any involvement with them.

My guess as to what will actually happen to the paid part (and this was hinted at back when they started to roll out the feature) is that you will be restricted to uploading 10mins of video on a regular account. However if you want to upload more you can upgrade to some sort of 'Premium' account which will allow you to upload longer videos. 'Premium' accounts may have other perks as well, such as: turning off ads, ability to make group Channels (where multipul people can upload as), Upload & View HD videos, etc.

I see from your comments that you are not familiar with what is going on on youtube, so I'll try and explain it in a different way, Imagine Auran shutting down the forum and download station and then just run ads for their products on this website. I am sure the many content creators that upload their ecellent work here would be somewhat upset. Sure, there are other sites yo post content on, but here it is concentrated.

After all Youtube was started so people can post video's on the net!!!

ultimate goal is to CONTROL the internet.
Ah well, none so blind as those who won't see, people ignored Hitler unrill it was too late. And now it's corporate Nazi's trying to take over everything.

How I cope, my screen resolurion is 1024 X 467, large font size, the display is set to 150% and my browser display is cranked up (control +) as large as I can get it. And if in some cases this isn't enough, there is always the magnifier option (see ease of access centre in the controll panel).
My monitor is 19".
I have more problems ctossing the road, I can't see the bus comming untill it's on top of me. I have to spend a lot of time getting the tyre marks of my clothes:hehe:

I don't care what is happening with Ewe Tube, and more power to Google as far as I'm concerned. Google is a business, and businesses are required to make money. Fun little things that start out as free seldom remain that way for long.

And the Hitler comparison? Really? Yes, they are out to control the internet, so what? Get back to me when they start making tanks...
 
well it is inevitable according to Godwin's Law

I don't have the reference off hand, but there is an additional rule stating that once Hitler has been brought up, whoever brought it up's point is there-by considered invalid and hence have lost the argument.
