Curiousity about "missing dependencies"

Sometimes after downloading train vehicles from the DLS, they will show as missing dependencies, but those missing are shown as being on the DLS. So I find it, d/l and all is well. In one case, the missing dependency didn't show as being on the DLS, but I found it there anyway.

Anyone know the technical reason why this happens when the missing dependencies are on the DLS but get left out of the train download sometimes?

I have found this sometimes when dependancies have been updated and the assets shows them as missing with an unknown location because it is still looking for the original dependancy. A quick search of the DLS with the KUID2 prefix often finds them

Trainz will read the kuid table that appears in some config files. It will look for those listed even if a newer version was downloaded. I always check for versions on any missing content to see if the update was installed instead of the original quoted kuid.
