Hi All,

I was running the HabourMaster Route/Session today, and it crashed twice on me, once while sitting in the yard area, and once after i loaded three gondolas with scrap to take to the unload point. I checked the error report that was generated and this came up: trainz caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)in module ig4icd32.dll at 0023:04c80ae6. that was the first line in the error log.

Thoughts?

Thanks for any help

Based on the error, it sounds like you've got an Intel integrated graphics card - these cannot handle later versions of Trainz properly at all.

Hi Shane,

thanks for the reply. my computer has AMD Radeon HD 6490m Discrete-Class Graphics. the processor though is intel.

OK - I've done some further research and that filename is definitely related to Intel integrated graphics cards. This is likely to mean that your system has both an integrated graphics chip (the Intel one) and the ATI card. Normally though, the only way of properly correcting this is to use the BIOS (Basic Input Output System), but I would only recommend this if you are familliar with how the internals of a system work.

Hi Shane,

When it comes to computers i would class myself as intermediate skill level, but BIOS sounds a bit over my head. I mangaged to play on the route lastnight for a couple hours running around with gondolas loading/unloading scrap and flat stock at the various industries in the route. When I came back to the yard area to couple up to a few more cars to service the other industries it crashed again. I wonder if it is a combination of both the route and the aforementioned issue.

Thanks Again,
Regards,

It is an error caused by OpenGL. On my laptop, if I try to use the start button to run a different program at the same time, Trainz 2006 crashes. My laptop definitely has Intel Graphics though. Switching to Directx should work if you are using later versions of trainz, but I can't because Trainz doesn't work as well if I do. The problem is that my laptop has Intel Core i3 M330 graphics, and I have Windows 8.1 64 bit so I can't update it easily, or I don't know where to go to get the latest drivers.
