Crash Problem

Appreciative Trainzer
After 22 years on Trainz I have encountered my first major crash problem.
I have 22+ Build 127161 (latest update installed on release)
I download items about twice a week.
After a download on October 2 I opened Trainz to check new items in-game.
After some minutes the screen went black. The computer stayed on, but the screen remained black.
I did forced re-start and found everything else working OK.
I then deleted new downloads.
I then did a full database rebuild.
Started Trainz. Crashed after 5 minutes.

Follow-up - I deleted new downloads back to September 21.
Didn't find any problems with downloads in CM.
I opened Trainz 2/3 times in different routes, but did not move curser.
Trainz crashed each time at about 5 mins - I did notice in the last 40 seconds movement in another program I was in became jumpy.

I know crashing problems have happened to people over the years, so I'm wondering if there is a fix for this one.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Nick

One possible cause of these mystery crashes are driver (the software type, not the human-in-the-loco cab type) updates. Did you have a recent Windows update - I am assuming that you are running Windows 10/11?? There have been a number of threads over the past year or so where the culprit has been Windows updates or lack of running Windows updates.

What about your hardware drivers - GPU, bluetooth, WiFi (are you using a wireless keyboard/mouse for example?), etc.

How is the state of your HDD/SSD storage devices?

Some possibilities but, like always, the fault may be elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply Peter.
Things have changed in the last 6 weeks. I've moved house - gone to wifi for internet connection.
Stayed on Windows 10. Trainz is on separate SSD Drive. Keyboard and mouse are wireless.
So I will start a check of all the drivers and the SSD drive.
Appreciate your help and your wisdom.
Cheers

Keyboard and mouse are wireless.
For some reason, wireless keyboards and mouses have been a constant source of problems. If you have wired versions stored somewhere try swapping them over to see if that makes a difference.

This sounds like your display is losing signal. Check your connections to your LCD display, or if you can try a different display to check for the off chance the one you are using is faulty or was damaged in the move.
