CPLW - offline?

I found a better looking Mikado by Ben Neal on the DLS with a visored headlight. I could use that and the NKP tender and reskin them. There is also a Grand Trunk 4070 on the DLS by NOT_DOS_Player but most of his locos except a few look bad. If JAGG or anyone else doesn't have the original locos from CPLW then I can do the next best thing and use Ben's updated Mikado from the DLS with a NKP tender on two axle trucks. I just replace the trucks kuid in the tender config.

hate to bump this thread but CPLW is in fact shut down unfortunately. The creator is taking a break from trainz, their content will be put onto Texas State Shops as CPLW has merged into TSS as about a year ago, keep y'alls eyes posted on that site at the end of this year! (December 30-31)

But just the main CPLW site is shut down. Other sites that were a part of CPLW like Peter's Trainz still work. What will happen to the wip models like the Skunk Train #45, etc. that were never released?

yes the main site is gone the other sites are still up, my apologies forgot to include that

edit 11-10-25: any wip models will more than likely be gone to time

maybe not all of them, they'll be uploaded over the course of quarterly releases TSS has planned in 2026, the plan is upload a few of the original CPLW releases in December.

I was hoping the Cuyahoga Valley 4070 would be reuploaded. I guess you don't know which ones will come back on TSS. I don't think I downloaded it when the site was up and the wayback archive links takes you to google drive pages that ask you to request access like the files are private now.

You can get Eagle River steam locos payware at K&L Trainz. CPLW though had 2-8-0's and 2-8-2's in Eagle River. K&L has a 2-8-0 and 4-8-0. That is a nice fictitious freight and tourist railroad, but I never understood what the narrow gauge line to a pier was for and the track just ends in Beaver Cove, no connection to a class I unless you make one yourself by adding a few baseboards and extending the railroad a bit. It has a very northwest US vibe like Washington State or Oregon.

Yeah, I have 50, I've yet to get 70 and 62. I might be getting 70 soon though, but still, I would like to get the CPLW stuff. IIRC Trainz Forge has two mallets and a willamette lettered for Eagle River.

@rwk
I don't know anything about the Eagle River route you are describing, but if you go back to the 1870-1880 era, overland transport was difficult and favored ships when possible (or necessary). The cargo would be unloaded on piers and hauled inland. Hopefully the locals would have something to ship out as well.

The 76 mile Pacific Coast Rwy started out that way around 1875. In 1894 the Southern Pacific built through San Luis Obispo, CA ending the PCR's monopoly. Like other rail lines, the PCR couldn't retain profitability due to competition from trucks on newly built roads in the 1930s and later.
