Coupling Problems

Hi all,
ive set up a yard and put the trains and carriages separately, now when i put the details in Driver command i set them to couple to correct carriages,i load the game the Engines go to the correct carriages but once they connect up it comes up with "No path Selected for Destination" and unsure on how to fix this?
I have checked the line and trains are able to leave the yard and have a path to the destination, i checked the trains and they seem to be wanting to go backwards instead of forwards after they couple but they cant go backwards cause track ends,i tried putting makers, direction points in and they didnt work,i have signals aswell.

Im fairly new so maybe its and easy thing to fix or just too complicated to bother.

Cheers.

Make certain that the locomotive is able to couple to a consist via a clear path to the first car in line. I've made the mistake of instructing a loco to connect to a consist car which was at the end of a track buffer, and naturally it will not try to follow a non-existent track. First, check which cars are accessible by right-clicking on the car and observing its Details and asset name, then insert that into the Driver command i.e. (Couple Ore_Car #1), etc. Always choose the first car in a consist that the locomotive has a clear path to.

The trains do couple to the correct consist which is fine but once they couple up they dont go anywhere they stay there and shut down with the error of no selected path for Destination.

The rule holds true for any destination. If you get this message for instance 'Drive to Powerplant' and the train cannot find the path, check your map to see if the driver has a clear route. If not, then you may have to instruct the driver to find an alternate route like 'Drive Via [Trackmark]. If this fails, then you will have to take over manually and set the train onto the clear path.

I managed to get 1 of the 3 to run correctly from the yard, just a matter of playing around with other 2 i guess.

you may find using the couple to/at trackmark/in front of signal commands AI's don't like a signal en route to object. In yards sometimes it's better to minimalise your signals.
as CasyJ stated drive to/via t/mark. Also put a wait for ---secs if a change of direction is needed.

No path can be one of several reasons. First a lever may not be placed correct (to near spline point) or a lever has been placed without a junction for it to control. Second the track might be broke at some point. Third the route between it and its destination may have another consist in the path. Forth you have changed the name of the destination asset and not reissued the driver command to the driver (still looking for the old name)

Normally, if a path is blocked by a consist, the message would read "Waiting for track clearance."
