Corrupt Contents List?

Creating a small session of some 100 baseboards in T:ANE SP2 (88364). Last night a train wouldn't run and narrowed it down to the locomotive could not be found although it was there on the track. Deleted the asset and replaced it, still no go. Again deleted the asset and replaced it with something completely different and still no go. Using 'Find Object' I discovered that not only are a number of used assets, mainly locomotives, not listed, I have assets listed I'm not actually using. Rebuilding the database makes no obvious difference, but any other ideas would be much appreciated. Peter

This is a known problem with SP2 - the assets list for find assets, navigate to etc just doesn't work. AFAIK the only fix is to wait for the next patch.

Thank you, SailorDan, another good reason to look forward to the next hot-fix I guess. Trying to stay positive about Trainz, admittedly a little difficult at times, however frustrating it becomes when things seem to go wrong it's surprising how much you learn trying to put things right. Peter

Yeah it's an unnerving bug, which I discovered myself and reported. I found rather suddenly when I upgrading during a route and session editing period. The session I was working on suddenly had portals and industries I couldn't select in the Navigate to/Drive to lists. I initially thought the session had become corrupted and I would need to start from scratch.

Knowing now it's a bug and not a corrupted route or session, I too can wait and in the meantime added in track marks at the industries and stations as interim destinations in order to make the session operational. It doesn't make the AI loading automatic, but at least I can have them drive to destinations. When the hot-fix is released, I can then edit the driver schedules in the Schedule Library very quickly and all will be back to normal.

I think I'll wait and see what this weeks newsletter has to say but I'm very tempted to replace one of my installations with SP1. Fortunately I have a second machine with swappable hard-drives, two of which have T:ANE SP2 installed which with hindsight was a little shortsighted. I downloaded a full copy of SP1 some time back when I rebuilt my gaming machine and still have it. It will involve some fiddling about but may be less frustrating than Trainz is currently. Peter
